The only DC Hero that has worked in film form for years is Batman. DC are great at TV shows and Cartoons, stick with that.

I wish them luck but I really don't know how these films will turn out, the only one that sounds plausible will be Suicide Squad as it's different but the main heroes of DC for some reason do not fit movies. They should make movies based on anything by Alan Moore then have in their stockpile of own properties and Vertigo and leave it at that.

Any of these movies can work. DC needs to find the writers that can win both sides of the userbase. They need to hit the right balance of changes/keeping source material, so they don't piss off comic fans.  That's the sole problem. People thought Guardian of the Galaxy was gonna bomb. What happend.

If they based it on the original Gaurdians people wouldn't have had a clue what was going on.

"What do you mean they are from the 31st Centry and the main guy has Captain America's shield? That makes no sense."

I think it worked because they were mostly unknown and people seeing it and saying to their friends 'This is great go see it.' helped. It's the same for Suicide Squad, it could work because no one knows them. The others are all general public characters (and gods) so unless the story is done right it's hard to do it, even the First cap isn't great and out of the X-men films only really 2 maybe 3 are actually any good.

Unknown comics can also end up being hated/ignored. Who remembers Howard the Duck movie. That mess didn't need to happen. It could of been fun.

*Sigh* DC characters are so corny it's embarrassing. Batman is the only one I can watch with a straight face. I mean, a guy with a frigging magical wishing ring? Come on. Superman is like the first, basic concept of a superhero. The prototype. The cape and the tights. Too bad they made him too invincible to be of any interest. Oh well, I guess it's a matter of taste once again.

Go watch one Of the animated movies.  i recommend son of batman, flashpoint, or assault on arkham.  When you come back, i expect you to edit that post.

Oh. I forgot it had come out. I am currently in the middle of AO... should I finish playing or watch the movie right now?

As long as you watch it.  That's all that matters.  A couple of characters steal the show.  It's pretty absorbing from beginning to end, even if the story is pretty weak.  I enjoyed it a lot.

kinda off topic but how much you all want to bet the rumors are true that WB Montreal is working on a Suicide Squad game and it probably release along side the movie in 2016?

I'm gonna watch these fried so it'll be good either way lol but there's also a new DC animated series in the works too!

Wonder how long it'll last after Beware The Batman

One year. WB can't seem to get a show right. GL, YJ died because toy sales sucked. But had a good viewership between Kids-adults. But CN/WB seems to not want to try a PG DC series to cater to the teen-adult fans. Maybe than they can keep a show going. I honestly don't know what is wrong with CN with all the pre-emps and stalling with DC properties. That doesn't help.

Hasn't YJ been renewed for another season?

At least half of these will be cancelled.

3/4 of the remaining half will be delayed indefinetly.

Suicide Squad could be interesting, but I have a feeling they'll all end up with a >70 scores on Rotten Tomatoes.

Rotten Tomatoes rankings for DC Comic movies since 2000.

9 - Catwoman (Off to a good start)
85 - Batman Begins
76 - Super Man Returns
94 - The Dark Knight
65 - Watchmen
12 - Jonah Hex
26 - Green Lantern
88 - The Dark Knight Rises (This movie really sucked though)
56 - Man of Steel

57 - Average Rating

Even though I do not like either modern Marvel or DC comics (I love the classics up through the 90s of both, but they both also really managed to fuck everything up in the new millennium), I do think that these new Marvel Universe movies have held up pretty well, outside of Iron Man 2 and 3, which were both rather terrible. The first one was okay. But IM1, the Cap and Thor films, Avengers, and GoG have all been at least decent, with a similar feel to all of them, so far.

I do not, however, have any faith that DC is going to be able to get their shit together and provide something similar. In fact I have ever reason to believe that they will more than likely fuck it all up royally.

But oh well. At least the Marvel movies will hopefully continue to be solid.
