PS4 makes “incredible difference” for Gran Turismo says Yamauchi

Speaking exclusively to games™ in an in-depth interview feature, Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi has praised the PlayStation 4 and assured fans that they can expect a much better final product than Polyphony was able to deliver on the more challenging PS3 hardware.

“Everything will be running naturally,” Yamauchi assured us. “PS3 was much, much more difficult. The high quality of data that we have being rendered on the PS4 I think is going to make an incredible difference.”

He went on to reveal a little more of his vision for how the first Gran Turismo on PS4 will feel.

“For GT7, myself and my staff have a clear vision: to do everything we couldn’t do in GT6,” Yamauchi revealed. “We want to make it very Gran Turismo. By that I mean it’s going to be a game that matches the very era that we live in, in 2015 or 2016.”

You can read much more from Kazunori Yamauchi on his early days falling in love with racing, the challenges of working on PS3 and his hopes for the future of the GT series in games™ 153, on sale now.

Ah, was just about to post this. Hopefully they can actually keep to that schedule and we won't have to wait until 2017.

2015 seems optimistic

Well, let's see what they are trying to do. I guess a more refined physics based system, along with a new rendering engine, for sure. A lot of assets should already exist in high-res resolution so they "just" have to downgrade it for PS4 and render it :) Still a ton of work to do, of course. But it's not that they are starting by zero.

This is the next gen racer I wanted, not this DriveAlone BS.
Cant wait for its reveal trailer, probably E3 or Gamescom next year as I cant see it coming out in 2015.

lol at the thread title. they are openly talking about this game, and i think this pretty much kills any hope for a GT6 remastered or anything like that. it will be interesting to see what they can do with GT7, not that i would buy it though lol.

GT7 Prologue in 2015, GT7 in 2016 or 2017.

Guessing a release during 2016 & a preview @ E3 2015
