Wow. You replied faster than I could put the poll up. Did you beat Skyward Sword? Did you dislike the controls? (Let's focus on controls and not story, levels or enemies now)

Haha. .

But no I have not pkayed SS. Actually, just 2 Zeldas since last year. WII U one will be third.

How many Zeldas have you played in total? I'm currently playing WWHD and ALBW but I've beaten 5 Zeldas before (6 if 4 swords counts). I think SS shouldn't be missed, even if you have problems with the motion controls like some people do. It has some of the best dungeons, fights and cinematics in the entire Zelda series

Before this gen, (in 2012...year prior I was still casual) , I did not follow gaming so only bought games that look itresting from shleves or the TV ads.

But my first Zelda was ALBW, then this summer holiday I bought Link's Awakening from the eShop and currently about to start the 6th dungeon out of 8. Great game too!

I think I will get OOT 3D and WindWaker HD some day too, probbaly before the 2015 Zelda. (well...at least 1 of them!)

I would use the Gamepad.. I didn't mind the motion controls in SS, but I would love to see how the GamePad is used in Zelda U!

WiiMote+/Nunchuck. Skyward Sword was THE most immersive Zelda.

I also played Twilight Princess which comes second. Started WindWaker GC on the Wii which was somehow frustrating - which was the reason to buy a Wii U - and finished WindWaker HD on the GamePad.

Oh did I which during the fights to be able to "really" fight as in Skyward Sword. The map on the GamePad and switching between weapons using the GamePad was fine. But still - it wasn't as immersive.

Of course ANY new Zelda is welcome. From what I've read it looks they will use the GamePad. Hope that they will make the best of it...

A vocal minority liked those controls. No one's doing anything with motion controls now because the fad is over. The Game pad needs good implementation to sell it though, and this is the game to do it with.

This,

I mean the sales back it up too.

No. Exactly the opposite is true.

Nintendos problem wasn't the consoles name, the price or the GamePad.

It was NOT communicating clearly which games will use the WiiMote/Nunchuck control scheme and which will not.

About that "fad" theory: YEARS after the Wiis release Wii Sports Resort sold 32.58 millions of copies (MK Wii 35.53 Mio, Wii Sports 82.54).

The WiiMotion+ title WAS the THIRD BEST SELLING title on the Wii. Thats FACT.

NIntendo "just" has to convert 1/3 of those players to the Wii U and all problems are "gone". Having no Wii Sports Club ready at launch was a big mistake. Not promoting it more heavily when it was ready also.

Most Nintendo cores have already bought the Wii U. To expand the audience noticable Nintendo MUST get back to what the Wii make that success: the WiiMote/Nunchuck control scheme.

You could also just use Z-targeting and make the right analog stick act like the hf blade in MGR:R. Then you can control where link strikes with lightning quick speed and more accuracy. You get the same feel without the retarded arm flailing.

I knew someone would bring this up sooner or later. If they can actually pull it off well, then it means they'll be able to use all 3 control schemes. If that happens, everyone's happy and we can each stick to our favorite.

As for those asking why they can't just use all 3, I explained why in an earlier post. Many of the things the motion controls allowed woukd be impossible or frustrating to do with classic controls.

Not impossible. You have the team build all the mechanics for all the controllers into the game. You choose this controller. This version of the puzzle is used. Not - adapt the motion controlled puzzle to buttons. It requires extra diesgns for each puzzle. But Nintendo built the system to use 3 controller types. They have to deal with that.

Example: To get into a room with the Pad. You use the screen and accelrometer to aim and scan for things like cracks. Then use bombs. The Wii remote uses the Bow to hit moving targets. The Pro controller has to touch buttons in a certain order. Different puzzle types. Same thing to do. Open a door. The game has to be adaptable to alternate puzzles. This also adds replayablity.

Either would be okay with me, but my lazy self is secretly hoping for gamepad after Skyward Sword only let me play an hour or so at a time before my puny muscles tired out.

If I were Nintendo, I'd be like y'all better buy the hell out of this game or we're never making THIS much effort to please all the different parties again! Actually, this sounds viable but I doubt they'd put in that much effort.

Than the system shouldn't support 3 control schemes. If they don't want to put in the effort.

Didn't you guys play Red Steel 2 or any of the No More Heroes games? Those worked my wrists so hard that Skyward Sword was a walk in the park to me (in terms of strain on the arms from motion)
