Xbox fans sure seemed to care about resolution in 3rd party games and npd sales in particular last gens. I wonder what changed?

Saying you're an Xbox fan and exclusives are everything? Lol

Yup sure, I keep saying this xD Suddently games with sub-par graphics "are still playable and fun" and diminuished sales "are still profitable"!

the weak console here is the xbone.

You are a genius realizing this so early this gen.

Smart people need years to realize things like this.

How would you know this?

so I think its highly ironic some of the people going on and on about 40% console difference this gen being uber important to them, were likely ones enjoying 45% less power on their ps2s.

What does this show? The power talk is for internet fanboys and nothing more. Ps2 did just fine even its visuals were still beautiful by gens end. Same will happen with xbox one.

my point stands. Paying less and playing early is far more impressive than a few extra pixels.

You like EA Acess... then you would like PS+.

If it were only about the power & higher resolution you'd have a point, but it's not.

It's not up to PS4 to prove it's better, because it is equal or better in most deparments.  It's up to XB1 to differentiate itself.

exclusives are the reason anyone chooses their system. Xbox is doing great in that department so far. We have to see how sunset reviews and halo mcc, but so far this year titanfall and horizon 2 both scored 86 meta. Both new titles that are great games. Gold has changed and is now giving massive discounts and free games and the console has regular updates including having 3d bluray playability before Sony.

my point is this power bs, is only relevant as a forum 1up over the opposing fanboys. Sad when the same people loved their ps2 with as I said was the weakest console.

For me I prefer xbox as I prefer xbox exclusives. The ps2 had all of 3rd party exclusives that I liked. Only really god of war from sony did I really like as their first party on ps2. And gran turismo. Other than that I don't rate sonys first party as high as others do.

That's fair.  I am a usually a 3 console gamer, and for now I'm waiting for XB1 to get some more exclusives first, especially something like Gears of War.

It's not that it doesn't have some great games.  I would play Forza Horizon, Killer Instinct and others, but there are also a lot of great multiplats which are on PS4 as well. and getting an XB1 with XBL and some games is still over $500 investment for it's current exclusives, since I wouldn't buy multiplats for it.

So basically, what you're saying is that there's allegedly a possible likely irony maybe.

Ok.

I don't name people. That's not fair. But there has been plenty of people that go on about the ps2 being best console etc, and are this gen saying power is everything. Xbox sucks. Yet they didn't love their ps2 because it was the most powerful. There is huge irony in that regard all over the internet.

most importantly the point in making is

a, the power debate is internet point scoring

b, people choose the systems that has the games they want in the real world.

when i gamed on the ps2 i  didn't know what an xbox was. It wasn't big in my country in the EU  anyway. But i would have called the PS2 the best console by a mile if i knew it did and that's because it had the best games library. Not because it's more powerful. It's too early to say anything about the PS4 but I'll likely be saying it's the besast because it had the best games library and the bestversions of multiplats (added bonus)

i dont care, but i will post here nevertheless

lol ps4 cant render at 4k
weak console

The same way you did. It's not that hard.

I don't agree that (a) is just point scoring.  It has a tangible "quality" value; it's just less important to you.

Point (b) is true, and nobody is going to dissuade you if you feel that Xbox has the exclusive games you want then that's fine.  Enjoy your XB1!  You don't have to justify your choice by downplaying the power difference.

I am happy with the game situation for PS4; as far as I'm concerned it has way more games than I have time to play.  I have over 12 retail games, a lot of digital games, and I'll add at least 12 more retail games in the next 6 months.

So the point is for me the "power argument" is multiplied manyfold because I enjoy many games, whereas the "exclusives" argument has less weight because "I could play Forza Horizon 2 instead of **** PS4 exclusive" is less important when you have tons to play anyway.

This is true, and a fact that's often overlooked by extreme fans of one brand or another : exclusives are less important than ever before. For all of Sony's studios, for all of the Xbox series, the fact remains that most games people play on PS and Xbox systems are multiplats. With the 8th gen, this is more true than ever before. Extended development times and fewer series (along with many of them falling dormant entirely, such as the Rare catalog) means that a gamer can't simply play exclusives even most of the time if they want more than a tiny handful per year.

Nintendo is the polar opposite, their console may as well not exist other than for 1st party gems.

Anyway, as the gen cranks onward, particularly when gen7 stuff starts to die off hardcore, this will be more true than ever before. Even for gen7, I bet if you made a list of the top 100 PS3 titles and the top 100 360 titles, you'd see it HEAVILY dominated by multiplats, with a smattering of big exclusives like Uncharted, Gears, TLOU, Halo, etc.

Well then people should buy pc multiplatform games as they are far superior to ps4 and Xbox one muliplats. Everyone I know chooses consoles based on exclusives. Some can't live without uncharted. Some can't live without halo or gears. A slight graphical difference has never been a choice. We aren't talking Wii to 360 level.difference here. We are talking ps2 vs Xbox difference in power.
