Well, first, if I had enough disposable income, I'd own everything, without question.
As it stands now, however, my answer is, "probably not."
I actually like the Wii U as a piece of hardware. Most of my criticisms are about other aspects of Nintendo's home console philosophy. The main problem for me, outside the price tag, is that most of the franchises Nintendo concentrates on do not interest me. I don't care for platformers. I don't care for Mario. I like complex characters that develop as the adventure continues. I like interesting settings and story-lines. I like elements that engage not just my reflexes but my imagination as well.
I'm not saying that I dislike everything Nintendo brings to the table but rather that they have little interest in making the games that really appeal to me--and they can't count on third-party developers to fill that void.
I actually started off this gen with a good deal of interest in the Wii U but, looking back, I think a lot of that was that I was anticipating more content like ZombiU. That simply never materialized.
What can change my mind? Well, if the new Zelda is an absolute classic, that would be a MASSIVE incentive. I probably would have bought a Wii if I hadn't been turned off my Skyward Sword. Starfox and Metroid might also help a lot but I'm less confident about those. If they'd release a few more IP in the same mold as those titles, that would do a lot to gain my attention. I understand that they're trying to do something kind of like that with Bayonetta 2 and The Devil's Third but, unfortunately, I did not like Bayonetta and The Devil's Third looked mediocre last I saw it. More old-school style RPGs would go a long way, as well, though I don't really care for the "action RPG" style that much. The combat videos from X have turned me off that somewhat.
I hate to say it but, right now, my gaming wish-list looks like this--
1 - PS4
2 - 3DS
3 - Xbox One
4 - Wii U
