Please just do a simple google search on how many innings a starting pitcher needs to "get the win" in baseball.

And by your logic, that means the 6th gen of consoles finished in december 2012 when sony stopped manufacturing PS2s? A year before releasing the PS4... ok then. Not even gonna try and start explaining how wrong that line of thinking is if you can't figure it out for yourself.

I also have to disagree with you.

When we talk about the PS2, we say it sold 155m. We don't say it sold 100m, because it was at that figure when gen 6 started. We also don't say that the DS outsold the PS2, just because those sales where "within its gen".

Current sales absolutely count, and future articles and discussions will focus on final numbers, not numbers as of now.

OK OK OK I YEILD!!!! :)

I can see the sense in counting till a console is no longer in production. So I gues that the 7th gen isn't over yet.

And My bad about the baseball thing, from my apparently limited understanding of the sport I always thought that once a pitcher won the first 5 innings he automatically gets credited the win. I stand corrected and thanks to those that cleared that up.

Yay :p

I don't know anything about baseball, that's why I didn't mention it. :/

And this is why the X1 won't win a single weak until a $100 price cut or maybe Halo 5 release week.

Did you forget the MCC in november? there is little to no chance the PS4 outsells it that week.

The PS4 wille easily outsell it that week. Halo will only do well in the UK and US, and even there it's still just a remaster. You're expecting too much.

So you're saying it will just effect the sales of consoles in the 2 regions which still focus mainly on home systems instead of handhelds? Also you have to remember that for somewhere like China who never had the original or the Xbox360 this is going to be their first time getting to play Halo and it will be the complete box from 1-4 (I'm fairly sure China wont be getting Halo for a very long time with their rating system but when they do get the chance to play it I would guess that will be huge)

What does the PS4 have to launch around the same time that makes you think it would beat the no doubt X1 bundles for the start of the holiday season which come with MCC?

China, really? A bastion of FPS fans itching for Halo MCC? That seems rather a stretch.

Halo MCC is going to be biggest in the USA and if pre-orders are to be believed it's not heading for huge numbers. Still 6 weeks to go of course so lots can change. But not being at 100K pre-orders with 6 weeks to go is not particularly good for Halo. At 7 weeks out Halo CE anniversary was at 186K pre-orders. MCC is almost 1/3 of that at 6 weeks out. I'm sure people have faith in this game pushing Xb ones. But objective information we have available right now suggests it might not do as much as some people hope.

The notion of a remaster selling massive amounts of consoles is amusing to me. Lots of people liked Halo 2 but come on, it came out a decade ago. I do believe Halo 5 will move consoles but the MCC edition won't do substantial figures worldwide. Might help the Xbox1 beat the PS4 in the US for a few weeks though.

Are you trying to say that MCC having slightly more than 1/2 the pre orders on a system with 1/16th the install base is a bad sign for MCC? Objective information is rather useless when you overlook the fact that base number of users is different. As a % of users who have the MCC preordered it is 8x more successful than the Halo CE ann.

What I meant with China was to them it isn't a rehash of stuff they've played before, it is the first time there is a console sold in their country which will have Halo on it, in any capacity and they get the full story of Master chief right up til Halo 5. Amazing value and content for those gamers.

No SSB is slightly ahead

Lol, not that way.. On the oficial UK tracking, Horizon sold more than SSB.

Sûre youre not talking about the tracking including all platform for a same game ? I remember the opposite

UK is nuts for driving games, especially Simulator games ( I know FH2 isn't a sim but it's roots are in a sim) GT and Forza always do great numbers over in western Europe, Top Gear is here telling people who don't have the money to buy cars to go and test out cars.

So GT and Forza are used to test cars in UK? That's amazing if they have that level of realism, I've played GT and was always unsure of whether an Audi R8 or a Pagani Zonda control the same way in real life. Its good to know that they do.

Difficult to type while holding my face... No I mean Top Gear here makes people interested in cars they could never get within touching distance of like the Veyron, Forza and GT allows them access to them in the only way possible.

Oh be serious. You know install base vs game sales and pre-orders don't work that way. Besides the Halo fanbase makes out at 12 million so for the purposes of any halo game you can ignore 70 million xb 360 owners right away. And you also know that pre-orders are not a function of install base because people who don't own a console also pre-order games.

Hang on, does the pre-order chart count bundles? If yes then the pre-order chart does look pretty bad. If no then the pre-order chart is meaningless.

You can ignore whatever you want, doesn't mean that only the Halo fans are the ones who moved from the X360 > X1. If you are trying to imply that only Halo fans or people who have played Halo before will get the MCC that means it will have 0 sales in China.

Actually I don't really mind what you're implying will see when the game launches how it does, I'm sure there will be TLoU:Re lvls of threads about why the game will be/sell bad closer to launch. Time will tell.
