Forums - Sony Discussion - DualShock 4 mount to attach smatrtphones on pre-order

If one of the key reasons why you opted for a Xperia Z3 or Z3 Compact over a competitor device is PS4 Remote Play, then an essential part of that proposition will be owning the Sony Game Control Mount GCM10.

The mount will allow you to attach a mobile device (via suction cup) with screen size between 4-inch to 8-inches to a PlayStation DualShock 4 games controller. The mount appears to do a good job of not getting in the way of the controls, with clear access to buttons, triggers and analog sticks.

At launch, PS4 Remote Play will be exclusive to the Xperia Z3 series. It is not set to go live until November, but you can already pre-order the GCM10 in a number of retailers across Europe. One of the cheapest we’ve seen is Amazon.co.uk who currently has it for £12.78. Amazon.de has it for €19.72.

Even though Xperia devices aren't that popular, but that feature is really cool. I'm seriously considering getting Xperia Z3 tablet for it.

If Australian internet wasnt so damn fucking sad and they announced a Z3 Ultra I would be all over this.
Would love to play PS4 games on my phone, even if its just turn based games like the upcoming Disgaea 5.

Well, It is advertised to be used in home. The Remote Play feature uses direct wi-fi, you just need to connect the device and the PS4 to the same network, the internet speed has nothing to do with it.

Ive tried using remote play on my Vita. The PS4 was wired to the router, the router, PS4 and Vita were all in the same room and I still had issues. Maybe I was doing something wrong??

I'm not sure, maybe it is the router maximum transfer speed. Remote Play worked great for me on the Vita, the only issue I had was with R2 / L2 "buttons".

Is your router wireless n or wireless g  or "dual band"?

Is it set on 2.5 ghz or 5.0 ghz? You can set it to dual too if you had a dual band.

If it's not wireless n it's probably old and not fast enough.

there were reports the remote play app might be made available to pretty much all other android devices (android 4.0+) by xda devs

and most of these should work with this mount aswell, as long as the back is smooth (I guess the Galaxy Note 3 and 4 for example might not work with their leathery back)

I don't like the rubber suction cup solution.. those tend to lose strenght.. but its nice to see that Sony is supporting Mobile gaming with an official product
