Forums - Gaming Discussion - Amazon UK community vote PS2 as best console ever; PS1 in second place

Very strange match ups. I've always been Nintendo and Playstation, so it is nice seeing those make it to the finals. I went NES > SNES > PS1 + N64 > GC + PS2 > Wii + PS3 > Wii U currently but plan on buying PS4 sometime down the road.

Man can you imagine what if Nintendo and Sony actually stayed together with the SNES-CD/Play Station? I would only need to buy 1 console per generation lol.

Nice to see people still appreciate SNES over 360 instead of having short term memories. Also somewhat surprising to see NES lose to Genesis.

You have to remember that the Nes was a Japan and USA console with very little rest of world sales there were more Master System's sold in the UK than NES's.

Which is why I'm surprised 360 didn't make it further there being so popular or Wii

Nice list. I can't say i disagree.

I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised by the results.

Please excuse my bad English.

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Wow, the SNES beat the 360? What a nice surprise!

As expected.

I look at the last 4 and totally agree, majority of modern gamers (and the ones likely to vote) started on the SNES then had either a N64 or PS1 then PS2... it all makes sense.

Hmm, pie.
