644,315 to go by VGC numbers?

A good chance that it's passed it already.

I don't think it passed already but it must be pretty close right now.

I think MS and Sony are shipping tons of consoles for Black friday way more than nintendo to be honest.

cod has reduced system seller impact because it releases every year. and yet again, it's a halo collection. Zelda is also big, do you expect WW hd to sell 4m+?

Zelda isn't Halo big.

Halo is tracking well ahead of Smash, Japan won't push enough hardware to offset the gains XB1 will make in Europe and US this holiday.

so youre already taking for granted that x1 will do better even in europe?

a collection, a yearly multiplat and a small exclusive won't have even half the impact of smash.

Lol that's some awesome downplaying right there. Halo and COD are 2 of the biggest First Person Shooters of all time and you think those two together won't have as much impact as a 2d brawler on a console that's sold 7 million in two years? Yeah right.

Again, a collection and a yearly multiplat. this 2d brawler always has huge sales, your point?

Well, that yearly multiplat already sold 2 millions in the first week on X1. And if we are to believe VGCs preorder numbers, the MCC is setting up to do as good or even better than Smash, so I think he DOES have a point.

I'm talking about system selling potential, not software selling.

both COD and MCC are likely to be huge system sellers. both are games that people will go out and purchase a console for. I doubt Smash will have the same impact as either of those, either way we will see in a week or so.

They are kinda similar... People have to actually have the console in order to buy the games on it afterall...

Yes but I still don't think that will spur a massive amount of system sales. Many games came out that should have been the system seller. I bought one but I'm not the public or their opinion. I've Bought Nintendo from the 1980's. I do play the Xbox 90% of the time but the lady likes it too.

X1 will surpass WiiU in 2014, this is for sure, the better question is.... Will X1 surpass Vita in 2014? That's a hard call...

I hope not. I hope for February 2015.

But whenever it does. I am LEAVING this site.

Bookmarked.

Thank you.

I don't think it'll happen this year, whatever the case. Unless there's a big XO game I don't know about, but I was under the impression that CoD was their last semi-big title for the year while Wii U still has Smash (and maybe Captain Toad in certain regions, though I'm expecting that to sell more to existing owners). There's also the whole Amiibo thing. I honestly have no idea how that's going to turn out.

As for next year... not sure. It really depends on marketing and a couple of key games. Microsoft have done a pretty good job of turning the perception of their console around, while Nintendo still have some work to do.
