There used to be a line in the Forum Rules that said something along the lines of "Content is king. You cannot create a thread that contains just a link in the first post".

Is this no longer the case? It is now okay to just post a link in the OP and nothing more?

Nope, it is not ok.  They actually just made a thread about it.  So you can report it and the mods should lock it or make the op add something so it isn't just a link.
