Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Did Nintendo choose the right release date for Smash Bros U and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker?

8th generation game NOT delayed? Nintendo really like to go against market trends.

Seem like pretty good dates to me. I'm most surprised about the second wave of Amiibo coming before Christmas.

Its fine, its gonna sell bucket loads when it comes out anyway

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Like rol said, Captain Toad isn't a high profile title so it really doesn't matter much when it releases.

As for Smash Bros U, it's certainly better than releasing it post holiday's but a better idea would have been is to release it even earlier to control the damage done already by the game's release on the 3DS.

I'm sure Captain Toad will line many Christmas stockings! So yes.

Does Europe really have a black friday? I recall that Europe and Japan holiday sales don't typically hit full swing until December anyway.

I think the difference in release dates show a problem with scalability @ Nintendo. I think they're scared of a bug being found or network problems on release then being overstocked WW with the game because of bad press.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Yes. I guess they pushed Europe to 2015 because of games like GTA5, AC5, FC4 coming out which would probably flood the gaming news effectively drowning Captain Toad.

NA dates are good too because of black Friday craze, and CT right in time for Christmas with a great price point imo.

NO.

They are not a global release but whataver.......more impressive numbers from 2 days would have happened but eh.

Just hope that it helps the Wii U reach 10m.

I think they did a good job.

The best part of the news is the confirmation that Captain Toad is a reduced price game, hurray (I could not cares less about Smash)

I think it would have been better in September, but a game isn't ready til it's ready so...

Also, love that European date! We get it the 5th and the US has to wait til the 21st? About time we got something before those Americans

OP wrote it wrong: European release date is December 5. USA! USA! USA!

I'm not that happy with the European release date for Smash Bros WiiU, but I kinda saw it coming.
