Politics is a dirty mess and I try not to get involved. I know, I'm kind of part of the problem with the whole ignorant citizen thing. But the American political system is so whacked and I don't see it being changed.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

Liberalist all the way! Pacifist. Nowhere between the lefties and righties.

Libertarian. Since they're the party that supports the most freedom.

"...more socially liberal than the Democrats, but more fiscally conservative than the Republicans"

Laissez-faire capitalism (no government interference in the economy) and legalization of victimless crimes (abortion, drugs, gambling, homosexuality, polygamy, porn, prostitution, etc.)

"On my business card I am a corporate president. In my mind I am a game developer. But in my heart I am a gamer." - Satoru Iwata

I'm all over the place depending on the issue, but I overall lean Conservative/Libertarian

I am personally conservative socially and fiscally but politically I am libertarian

I don't believe anyone should have the right to use government to force their own beliefs down someone's throat, right or left.

My political leanings were shaped when I almost lost my house that I worked for years to buy because I couldn't afford to pay the property taxes.  When I found out the govenrment could take my house away I was furious and got more interested in politics and finding out where my tax money was going and being spent on.  I started reading a lot of books on politics and more and more I found myself agreeing with the conservative and libertarian arguments.

Libertarian, I guess.

My thoughts

1. Everything should be legal so long as it does not cause harm to, or take away freedom from another individual.

2. Always have a balanced budget, and with much less spending. Cut programs. Let people keep their money and choose how to use it themselves. Charities and family members should help the poor, not the taxpayer.

3. De-regulate business, let employees/employers negotiate wages, benefits, etc. End social security, end corporate taxes.

4. Simplify tax code, don't have a single loophole. I'm thinking just an income tax (progressive, but very low even for top bracket), and a sales tax on new goods (certain things exempt, like food).

5. Keep emergency services, roads, etc. under gov't control. But contract them out to private companies.

6. For lack of a better term, "nerf" the federal government. The feds can take care of national defence, international affairs, and a high court to settle disputes between states/provinces...but the rest should be done at state level or municipal level.

7. Stop bombing/invading foreign countries for shit sakes. We would have a lot more money if we weren't always bombing someone.

8. Privatize schools, hospitals, etc.

Doesn't this sound like a nice place to live? You actually get to keep almost all the money you earn, and you can do whatever you like so long as you aren't causing harm to others?

I could probably have gotten into more details but I gotta go to class and I'm not trying to make it tl;dr, feel free to reply if you have comments/concerns.

You guys would love here in Brazil, it is so crazy: dozens of political parties and one tweet cann change an entire election. Also, researches of vote intentions are all lies. We are in the middle of a presidential election here, pretty exciting. I will vote for a dude called AÉCIO NEVES, the other candidate has been in power for 12 years, that is enough...

My position and interests:

- Free education and paid education for those who want it. (We have it already in Brazil)

- Total freedom of religion, with respect to any kind of speech if it is in a religious manifestation. No type o violence allowed whatsoever. (We have it already in Brazil)

- Free heathcare and paid healthcare. (We have it already in Brazil).

- No homosexual special laws (They want to create special laws to homosexuals here in brazil. Like, if I beat someone, I get 3 months of jail, but if I beat a gay person, I get 3 years).

- No legalization of any drug (weed, cocaine, crack, heroin, lsd...), intensive repression to the use of drugs.

- Less taxes for the poor, more taxes for the super rich. Like, if a person makes less than 50k a year, no taxes, less then 100k, 10% taxes. From 100k to 900k, 15- 20%. More than 1 million to 10 million, 20-25%. More than 10 million, 25-30%. More than 100 million, 35%.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Heavier taxes on large sums of passive money (aka gigantic savings that are nearly never touched)
But still allow people who made a good contribution to society to have a higher standard as their reward.
Crackdown on lobbyists
More tax benefits for smaller to middle companies
Less tax benefits for mega corporations (since they usually pay next to no taxes)
Country must fundamentally stay a democracy
A governement for the people

The bolded part already exists, it's called inflation.

Also why do you want people to be punished for saving money? Jesus Christ, maybe we'd have a better world if people actually did live within their means and had savings...then not everyone would have thousands in credit card debt because they had to have that 50 inch TV and newest iPhone...and people would have a few months salary saved up in case they lose their job, and we wouldn't need welfare.

It's not about the normal man and women's savings I'm talking about. I'm talking about really big private capitals, running in the millions, passed to the next family member who can live from the money alone. A tax on LARGE passive capital.
