my prediction just came through. FIFA 17 retail only has passed the historic 10m mark in just 4 months. Incredible achievement. And yet another correct prediction by Kerotan the great preductor of our time!!
UPDATE: Week ending 27th December 2014.
Combined Fifa 15 sales on Sony platforms have crossed the 10M mark. (PSV, PS3, PS4).
With the last week of 2014 added it should be over 10M excluding the PSV.
The end of 2014 PS4 FIFA 15 sales will be ~6M retail. The big question is can it hit 10M lifetime? I think 8-9M is very do-able for the PS4 version and with
digital sales added on it should be a 10M PS4 seller. It's turned into a monster and without bundles too.
OK so this is my prediction. A fifa on the current gen consoles will sell over 10M copies (retail + digital) on a single SKU.
What SKU? Well the PS4 of course. I suppose the X1 could if it turned things around but i doubt it.
So I think a future Fifa on the PS4 will sell over 10M copies.
The PS3 has Fifa 13 with over 8M sales. With the PS4 starting off much better I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest that the PS4 will have the first ever sports game to sell over 10M copies.
Fifa 15 launched with a massive 2M plus sales on the PS4. I think the signs are omnious and in a few years at least 1 PS4 fifa will break that historic figure
One last thing: The PS3's equivelent to Fifa 15 was Fifa 09 and it sold a total of 2.54 million copies. In 2 weeks the PS4 version of Fifa 15 will easily out do it.
