Maybe now you guys can understand why PC gamers were upset when Ubisoft decided to keep the PC at console levels for Far Cry 4. They're just a lazy company which, in my opinion, doesn't deserve a gamer's money.

Yep, PS4 version of AC4 got bumped to 1080p after launch.

And don't forget about COD:Ghosts.  Same Day 1 patch.


I think those are different situations.  Both AC4 and COD:Ghosts were console launch games.  They didn't completely know the specs for PS4 until few months before release.  They didn't have enough time to optimize because of the console launch.

As for AC Unity, I suppose time crunch for optimization could be a factor, but they would say that.  I don't think not having enough time for optimization is a big reason for 900p 30 fps




I was on the fence about this game, but if the 1080p zealots want to boycott it then I guess I'm going to be buying it just to piss those people off.



I'm a huge AC fan and an even bigger fan of the French Revolution...

And I'm going to pick this up used for PS4. Fuck Ubisoft for taking a bribe to lower one version to the standards of weaker hardware. It's despicable and corrupt.

Ubisoft apparently chose parity for AC:U (Hence, it was a simple option). Using the potential power of Wii U is still a struggle. Hey, developers are learning how to better optimize for X1 as well.

Gimped ports are gimped ports.

What a bunch of whiners... all that over a few pixels that you can't even tell the difference with the naked eye sitting more than 5ft from your TV screen.

Apparently Sony fans forgot the PS1 & 2 eras where many multiplatform games either looked on par or even *gasp* WORSE on Sony's hardware than their competitors, but that didn't seem to stop them from enjoying their consoles and games anyway.

Apparently so... because since the start of this gen anything that isn't 1080p @ 60fps is totally unplayable out in Sony Land.

After the incredible image quality we got with AC4 (SMAA 2TX) on PS4, it's such a disappointment. Have you seen the recent ACUnity XB1 screenshots (not the gamersyde video which is from a PC build and looked incredible)? It's aliased, blurry with low AF everywhere. But the lighting is good at least.

But what good is lighting if it's wrecked by strong vaseline and aliasing?

Watch_dogs, ACUnity, then after that the Division all will be from now sub-1080p because of parity.

The last real next gen Ubisoft game was really AC4. I predict that in 5 years people will go back to this game with amazment of how it looked on PS4.


Was Watch_Dogs(PS4) the same specs(resolution and framerate wise) as the Xbox1 version? Or are you talking about the yearly follow-ups that will inevitably occur?

LMAO! This coming from the guy who was complaining about gimped ports just a few minutes ago.  Or is it not okay to gimp them on Nintendo consoles, but okay to gimp them on Sony consoles?  Think hard before you answer that.
