I dunno, some games still manage to wow me. The Order is the biggest example.

Well, ultimatly it depends on what side the majorty is. I love some old scifi shows from the 90's. But they're abosolute failures.

I don't get it.

We can't quantify personal taste. Only sales numbers are useful. I think American Idol is crap. But it gets 20 million views. So my view is wrong. Even if you think this game is amazing. More people don't care. And their view is more important. I'm rambling too much lol.

Ryse looks amazing, arguably the best looking console game thus far, but the gameplay was just to repetitive for my taste.

Felt the same way about Crysis as well... especially 2 and 3. Gameplay just didn't do it for me. Ironically I never cared for the original FarCry or its sequel, but FarCry 3 was amazing all around in terms of story, visuals / art direction and gameplay, and I'm pumped for FarCry 4.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

With that mentality I guess I won't be playing crytek's next game haha

I don't think it's so much that they miss the point, in regards to game-play, rather they ignore it, solidifying their position in the industry as tech gurus with lower interest in everything else.

If thats what they are really prioritizing its no wonder they ae having a hard time paying tehir bills.

to OP:

duh??? I will at leaitgive them credit for admiting  it, cause it seems like most of the industry have been brainwashed and have become either extremely stupid or have lost touch of what really matters in games. The day you have to explain to someone why one image looks better than the other of the same shot... then in my opinion you have hit a wall and are wasting you r time or resources.

GUY A: "Errr, I can't seee the difference"
GUY B: "what the fuck are you blind? Can't you see that on eis running at 1080p and the other is running at 1460p???? Can't you feel that one is running at 30fps and the other at 60fps? LOOK!! V-synced so the framerate is smoother, dammit, ok just stand in front of that wall and slowly pan the camera from right to left!!! Did you see it!!! Thats what having shadows on ultra gives you......"

So tiring......

This pretty much sums up the current attitude of this generation.

I hope Crytek tries to make their games a little more gameplay oriented now. But people bashing on Ryse constantly is tiring also as most do it just because they think it's still cool to do it. It wasn't a bad game, just a little repetitive.

Crytek has the driest and most boring Gameplay i've ever seen out of a AAA developer. Beautiful graphics are nothing if there isn't any heart behind it.

Yep and press triangle to Aiden.

And the protagonist should wear a nanosuit when he brushes his teeth, you can have a mini-game with the motion controls on sixaxis to put the suit on in the morning. All in glorious visuals, of course.
