Do you mean lifetime totals?  if so I think that is a great question.  I will add it to the OP

No, he means how many people will be playing each as time goes on, as they are social/online oriented titles. Hopefully we get player counts for each at some point.

DC has a virtual certainty of having more people play it if you include the PS+ version, but that's cheating. But even with retail+digital sales, I think the install base of PS4 + popularity of racing in EU will mean more people will play the full DC game globally than FH2, by a lot.

In the US, retail sales for FH2 should prevail I would think.


Oh okay thanks.  Well, depending on if Forza  is indeed a yearly franchise, DriveClub might win by default.

PS Forza Horizon should be excluded from being compared to Driveclub, it's a lose-lose everytime because the built in excuses are already there, it's a new ip, it has a free version, Forza is established........

"-- built in excuses"? Your wording seems to imply that you don't beleive having a large chunk of the game available to download for free will affect physical sales :p

I can't understand why anyone would buy it on disk (with exception to those with harsh data caps). Not only do you get to see if you like it first, but upgrading from the free version is actually cheaper than buying the game outright lol.

forza horizon 2

im sceptical all the driveclub preoders form last year still stand right now.
i just know some of amazon.de, because it was cheap as hell in some promotions (20 euro)
but everyone who paid full price, im not so sure


forza is an established ip
forza had very good word of mouth form the demo and great review scores
driveclub is free for ps+ member and cheap to upgrade (great option, if u dont know if u will like the game or not, its even better)


ps4 has a bigger istallbase and no racer (beside nfs rivals), but some will wait for the crew or project cars
i still stink its not enough to beat fh

i would say Forza horizon for many reasons,but userbase double difference and Germany and France makes me say driveclub:P

yep.

racer + playstaion = easy sell for germany and france

I would agree, but I am even more skeptical about the lack of Forza Horizon 2 Preorders. Something is off.

First week I think it will be FH2 simply because you'll have a lot of people waiting and trying the free version before they decide to buy. But lifetime I think DC will sell better if you include digital sales.
