Forums - Gaming Discussion - Destiny (PS4) outsells Mario Kart 8 in less then 2 weeks.

DIGITAL numbers of MK8 are high, so it has not been overpassed. DO not spread mis-information.

P.S: The fact that Nintendo refuses to lower the prices of ANY of their games is not an achievement its just a pricing strategy.

it is an achievement, most games drop price in less than 3 months while most nintendo first party games dont drop intill 3 years. Maximum profits on a single title is pretty damn good

Not really since higher price = less sales = less profit

PS4 says hello. :0 (and many other things which is too many to list)

Strategic shift of argument. You didn't say: "brand new IP", originally.

Fine..  Me:  Destiny is the most overhyped game of all time, bar none.

You: No

Me:  Name one.

Simple: GTA V, as the easiest example, had far more pre-release hype than Destiny. You were better off keeping your dynamic view where it was.

So GTAV didn't live up to the hype then?  Not sure you understand what the term "overhyped" means.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

And it's quite an odd pricing strategy for some games. You can still buy Mario Kart DS, New Super Mario Bros. etc here for full price. I'm not even kidding.

huh, doesn't that just encourage people to buy used instead then?

And thats exactly why nintendo keeps the price or lowers it by $5-$20 cheaper years later, the game still sells a huge amount. Example MKWii sold 1mil lastvyear and almost at full price despite it being a 2008 game

My initial reaction was ok, what is the big deal? An overhyped game like Destiny is gonna have a great launch week of course. but lets be honest, nobody cares about it anymore. Watch dogs all over again. MK8 will probably pass by my guess holiday 2015

I heard Angry Birds sold better than Destiny.

On mobile,  sure,  but then you're comparing and install base of 11 million to over 400 million.

just a little bit weighted there.

No fair, when i use that excuse for Bayo vs Bayo 2 (170mil+ vs 7mil) nobody listens....... :P

Makes sense for a better game to sell more

Destiny is barely even a good game, let alone a better game than Mario Kart 8.

Have you even played the game? If you haven't play it before giving us your opinion on it.

this happens alot on both sides unfortunately :0

Quality =/= Sales

Isn't it Nintendo fans that constantly argue that sales do equal quality because most first party games hit a million plus sales?
