As of 20th september global update;

Destiny PS4: 2,972,777

Mario Kart 8: 2,672,546

If you asked me back in March I would have said Mario Kart 8 and Titanfall will be the years highest selling single platform gamea. Colour me surprised... Next week it will overtake watchdogs.

EDIT: Didn't see it was for PS4 only. Nintendo isn't in a good postion to push games.

By end of year MK8 will outsell Destiny for PS4, maximum in 2015.

I think you might have miss read the OT. It's the PS4 version alone that outsold MK8 in 2 weeks (2.97m vs 2.69m). All 4 versions combined sold 5.6m.

Will be interesting to see if MK8 can catch up eventually.

I dunno. Destiny may not be a great game, but it's certainly better than MK8. Most gamers don't even like Mario.

Well Ka-Pi disagrees

I don't think he's implying that sales are a direct measure of quality, just that it makes sense for a better game to sell more :p It's a tad linear, but not entirely untrue (when ignoring other factors).

I don't agree with him that Destiny is better, but they're two very different games. Enough so that taste can easily make one much better than the other through the eyes of individual people.
