Forums - Sony Discussion - The Silent Hill P.T demo is amazing.

Am I right in thinking this "demo" has nothing to do with the actual Silent hill game?

It does remind a little Silent Hill 4: The Room because of the first person gameplay.

As much as I enjoyed it, I hope they go third person like the first three in the series that I loved so much.

That said, a spin off in first person like PT be cool.

You are not going to regret it. It had a sort of Del Toro's Pan's Labyrinth touch that felt amazing and it really takes it time to scare you one little bit more at the time. I think the Del Toro/Kojima partnership can really deliver the best Silent Hill ever. I just expect that they can live up to the hype.

It's horror, but not like old RE or TLOU, it's more like a psychological thriller, it looks like old horror movies like The Shining.

Maybe like some other user stated, a SH4 style would be cool. Small indoors sections could be on first-person (like Henry's apartment), then everything else on third!

*swoon*

This is shaping up to be a true dream game for me. I had just gotten around to playing Downpour, which I thought was pretty okay all things considered, and was hoping such a mediocre game wouldn't be the last we hear of the once-great Silent Hill. Then a couple of weeks later they dropped this on us. It was almost too perfect. Now if only Yamaoka comes back to do the soundtrack, like he has said he wants to...

I agree I liked it a lot. Enough to play through it several times.  I heard rumors around the time it was released that it has nothing to do with Silent Hills, and P.T. will actually be its own completely seperate game.  Just rumors though.

PT ENDING SPOILERS BELOW THIS LINE

By the way for those wondering how you beat it.  On the last rotation, plug your PS4 mic in and say the name "Gareth" several times near like the clock, radio, and phone and a baby will laugh several times and then the phone rings and you can answer it.  Works quickly and consistently.

You really want your first experience to be traumatizing? You'll play every further PS4 game by glancing around corners and trying to escape out of front doors.

I'd take Downpour before Book of Memories, any day of the week

If they keep what they did with P.T. on Silent Hills, I really think it can be one of (or the) greatest horror games of all time. And it looks damn good too, I know it's a detail, but the graphics are pretty good. The atmosphere is superb.

Edit: I'm curious if they will keep the 1st person camera on Silent Hills.

I only briefly dicked around with the demo for BoM. Just enough to piss me off that Konami didn't go with WayForward's original idea.

But yeah. Downpour wasn't by any means awful... well, except for the completely unacceptable technical performance. There were some genuinely creepy moments in exploring the world. A few of the side quests were really great, and the sound design was excellent. I guess the only thing I can really knock is the uninspired monster design. Did they really have to make every single one of them humanoid? Only the dolls were the least bit clever or scary. At least with del Toro on board that shouldn't be a problem this time!

Edit: On second thought, I also hated running from the Void.
