That is not true. God Of War III also has no multiplayer but sold 5.2 million units despite being PS3 exclusive as of March 31, 2012 (which is just about 2 years since its release).

I mean there is always an expection to the Rule, but that's what seems to be selling in the grooves right now: Mature Couch Multiplayer/Online games.
There is also the GTA series that sold tons in the past for PS consoles that most didn't have a Multiplayer mode, but I guess since it was a pioneer in it's field and the first of it's kind it developed a fan base and word of mouth help spread out sales even more...
