Franchise is dead, and thank god, we got Uncharted and The Last of Us in exchange.

Thank god? I would gladly give up both those franchises for this game.

Cool, I wouldn't. And going by sales numbers more people wouldn't than not.

Than, I'd rather have Angry Birds

Of course, cause it's a totally comparable situation. Then how about critical reception? What would you rather have now?

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Who cares about the opinion of a small circle of people, when the majority clearly know what's best :P

Still hoping for a new game in the series, hopefully more in line with Precursor Legacy. The others were fine, but none of them top the original. Of course, I never did play that certain 2009 title...

ND seriously needs to hire someone with talent when it comes to character design They have yet to design 1 good looking character. (and no average joe people have nothing to do with good character design)

WHAT THE FUCK they ruined Jak & Daxter's design, glad they didn't do it. Who are those people in Naughty Dog that want to force their realism in colorful platformers? They really shouldn't let them touch this franchise.

Jak 2 and 3 weren't really that coloful, but you're right forcing realism in a game like this is absurd.

Would be a system seller for me. Miss the PS2 era of Sony.

I do as well. There use to be so much more diversity. Now it's almost all adult, M rated stuff.

Far from the truth, especially considering games like Little Big Planet, Tearaway, Knack, Ratchet and Clank, Sly (the last one came like a year ago) and Invizimals. And let's not forget the hundreds of indies that are colourful and fun to play. The diversity is there.

Not in quality, scale or budget.

I'm actually shocked at people's responses.

Fair enough the realism is a departure (as was Jak 2 character design from Jak 1), but I would still take this re-imaging of the franchise over 99% of what we've been offered this last 7 years. How many big budget, original fantasy adventure games have we actually seen on consoles?

A bit more tweaking on the characters and I'd actually be so down for a slightly more realistic approach to the franchise. Even if you take into account Nintendo's systems, you either have really bold, chartoony worlds, Japanese, anime inspired visuals or you jump right to the other side of the scale with realistic FPS's, Sci-Fi FPS and generic Fantasy (Sorry witcher 3 and Dragon Age).. This is something thats almost completely missing from the industry at the moment.

:(

Lets just except that you both have your own preferences. In that sense critical reception and sales are irrelevant. In any case the games were both released in complete different era's with very different consoles environments. Direct comparisons are automatically flawed.
