Shouldn't a game's story be, you know, in the game? I don't think a giant encyclopedia counts.

I agree the grimories needs to be ingame.

The Raid's story is ingame for example... it was told you in the weapons you get from rewards... it is a cool way to know the story.

That is the point in Destiny... you need to discover the story... you are in a world that you will live and learn/discovery the story of it world playing each day.

The grimories are like books of the world's story... like real world.

Again, we wanted a satisfying story from the game. The game itself should be a vehicle for telling a story.

Having lore outside of the game that gives more detail about the world is fine. Our gripe is the game itself lacks a story, something Bungie lead us to believe the game had.

I understand... the game is not for you

Bungie delivered what I expected after played the Alpha/Beta... so I'm having fun with it and I will continue to playing for this whole generation if they continue supporting with patches every week.

It uses the MMO model... anybody that was used to that model knows that the way it works... it is not a TLOUS's story (that I loved) but a live universe story that you make part of it like you know real life.

Bungie will be reference in the future with what they are doing... others shooters devs will try to catch them.

Then the game shouldn't have been marketed to people that were looking for a story. Which is why there are tons of people complaining about the lack of story.

I'm fine with the MMO model, but that isn't an excuse for Bungie to pull a bait and switch on story telling.

The complaints aren't so much of the model of the game. We're being critical of a garbage campaign and lack of story within the game. Something that Bungie mislead us into believing the game had.

They stealth nerfed rewards for ranking up in factions, or cryparch rank. Used to get purple engrams , now getting mostly blues.

I got one Legendary today in one Cryptarch level up...

It isnt nerfed, the purples were just as frequently blues when decrypted, they just now show thier true color.

purples are now actually rare, but will give a purple item as a result.

Well, my last 5-6 level ups (Crypt lvl 35) were all blues pre-patch save for 1 legendary (which turned into a blue item). Could be just the RNG gods hating on you.

Will test out the ol (post patch) Crooktarch when I get home.

I used to get 2-3 everytime, or a mote of light, acendant shard/energy, or strange coin.

Did they add any new content worth playing ? any actual story ? that's what i want as I'm seriously close to trading destiny in.

Traid it if you don't like.

BTW the story can be read on the Grimories... it is a cool universe... the Raid's story is really good too.

i dont buy games to read their story eslewhere.

likley will, to many games worth buying hitting.  need a discount.

Consider getting Evil Within - its made by the father survival horror himself and the last 3 games he made are one of the best (if not THE best) games in their genre
