Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Has anyone actually used TVii for anything ever?

I'm still waiting for them to do a BBC iPlayer for it - I really miss using that on the Wii. But otherwise, yeah, we do use it as a TV remote. It's useful for switching the thing on and swapping over the HDMI channels when getting ready to play, but that's about it.

As others have said us Europeans don't even have the option not to use it. It's kinda forced upon us.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I would... if I could. Not implemented here still.

Do we, Europeans, even have such thing? :/

Boy everyone discriminates against Tier 2 countries.

Not every European country is Tier 2.

I tried using it for a while. The guide wouldn't sync up properly and I still would have to manually change inputs to change to a show I wanted to watch. It's also separate from the rest of the Wii U OS which makes it kinda pointless IMO.

In a world where tablets/smartphones didn't exist I think it's something that might impress people but not in this day and age.

Didn't Nintendo abandon that?

Nah.  In fact, they updayed it about a month ago.

I've never touched TVii since launch.

I set up the remote control thing but I never use it. Its kinda slow and I can't check the TV guide with it.

this. tried it and it works fine but it takes time to load the shows and channels. not all channels would be there too.  so instead of using TVii i'm just changed to my cable box's HDMI port and use the cable box's remote.  easier and faster way to watch TV. it is a good start, but they need to implement it better and fater.
