Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Tomodachi big success in Europe

200k sold in France already (Vgchartz has it at 115 000, undertracked by almost half). Looks like Nintendo has new successful franchise here

What does the article say about Animal Crossing too? I imagine its the closest in style to that series (500k in France).

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

It says that Animal Crossing sold 490k in 15 months while Tomodachi sold 200k in 4 months and Nintendo expect it to sell 400k before the end of the year.

Tomodachi is the best selling game of the summer and the best selling portable game of the year sor far.

Looks like its not a "Flop"

Meanwhile they're still hoarding Youkai Watch >.>

The french like buttons too. This will translate to more New 3DS Sales too in EU next year.

Didn't see that coming at all

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Tomadachi was destined to be successful, but since its a new IP, it obviously would not outsell the already popular and well-known Animal Crossing.

USA doesn't like ALL HAIL THE VIRTUAL BOY! as much.

Who, Level 5?

A tad bit surprised but glad to see it doing well. Even though the game is nowhere near as good as Animal Crossing its at least a good thing that Nintendo is investing in another life sim game, and a first party one at that. But like I said in my book this game doesn't come anywhere near the established series like Animal Crossing or Harvest Moon (Story of Seasons now I guess)

"I think it will be the HDS"-Me in regards to Nintendo's next handheld.
