Forums - Sales Discussion - 20th September Week (PS4 passes 11m on VGC)

Wow, Destiny went down by a lot in US! I wonder how long it will be able to keep in charts when other big PS4 and Xbox One games will launch.

I don't imagine destiny will hold well for the holidays, especially with all of the poor reviews and fan backlash that's going on in the bungie forums and elsewhere.

UK Data:

PlatformWeekly (change)Total
PS4 12,407 (-64%) 1,064,765
XOne 8,795 (-46%) 686,247

Okay so you guys see the problem with these numbers?

Article stated that Xbox One was up 155% so next week would be 22,400 units for Xbox One

Article also stated that PS4 was up 88% so next week would be  23,300 units for PS4.

Article stated that Xbox One was on top.

There are several different possibilities here.  The PS4 could be overtracked by a few dozen units.  The Xbox One could be undertracked by a few dozen units.  Or, they weren't kidding when they said the Xbox One just "edged out" the PS4.  Look like next week they will be in a statistical dead heat.

Correct me if I wrong, but wasn't that with the FIFA 15 release? That's the week of September 21st - September 27th, this is September 14th - September 20th.
EDIT: I completely fucked up and misunderstood you, sorry, you're right.

Other possibility : the "source" for the UK data was either full of crap or referring to a single retailer, single day, or some other criteria that didn't add up to what it was claimed to mean.

Yep, this is the week prior to the launch of FIFA.

The PS5 Exists.

Yeah, I think you're right.

The source was talking in regards to fifa and the price cut.  So, the next chart should provide insight into this.

Yes you are correct.  But remember, the boost that put the Xbox One on top of the UK charts that week was a percentage increase from the week before.  So by having the number from the week before, and applying the percentage boosts, we can see if these numbers match what Chart Track had for the same week ending 9/20/2014.

Or in other words, if we apply those percentages to this WE 9/20's numbers, the Xbox One should have the higher result.  It doesn't.

Its not off by much, but there is a difference.

Everyone's right I just didn't explain myself well enough.  Hopefully the info above is better.

one of those 1428 units of xbox one sold in japan this week was me.
You're welcome, xbox fans.

For Fifa15 week PS4 can do another 250k easily WW, may be 300k..

NA is really close, but EU is staggering how lop sided it is.

Numbers are not so far from the truth in Uk, the source told Xbox One was " slightly ahead" so statistical tie

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m
