Looking at past data, holidays makes the biggest difference in the US and UK, where the best selling console for the rest of the year tends to dominate completely. Maybe it'll be different this gen, but I doubt it. Whatever we're looking at in January will continue (probably) to be the situation for the rest of the gen.

That said: The dominant sales forces of a gen, and what makes sales interesting, is what influence it'll have on the industry as a whole.

People keep harping on about "biggest games" and asony not having any left..... guess what, Sony doesn't need a "big game" to completely dominate this Holiday.

When will people understand this? Probably whe it happens. I look forward to next year when we can put all of this to rest

Sure they will as all sign point to PS4 nearing a massive 20m by janauary.

Outsell their TOTALS combined? While I feel the PS4 will be the top console this holiday and sell mor ethan the XB1 OR the Wii u selling more than the XB1 AND Wii u COMBINED will not be easy at all.

It will get the biggest boost but it won't match both combined. Not even by a long shot.

For PS4 to have 50% market share by the end of this year it would have to sell above 18m.
