Hmm... When I was a kid I was a pretty hardcore Nintendo loyalist, so a system being a Ninty system generally sold me on it. I'll think of the game(s) that stood out though.

Game Boy Color - parents bought, nothing in particular sold me on the system
N64 - parents bought, nothing in particular sold me on the system
GameCube - Super Smash Bros. Melee
Game Boy Advance - unsure.
Wii - The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, motion controls
DS - Metroid Prime DS demo (eventually became Prime Hunters)
Xbox 360 - Tales of Vesperia
3DS - Super Mario 3D Land
Wii U - Bayonetta 2, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

May buy a PS4 or PS3 down the road, though PS3 is looking more likely.

Strangely enough I will be getting a PS4 soon because of P.T. (aka Silent Hills) the teaser and the tgs trailer just looked super awesome. And I really want to play it.

Got an xbox because of Halo.

Appreciate it. No regrets though, games like Demon's Souls, Dark Souls and The last of us were the best gaming experiences I have ever had. And all that wasn't possible without Versus, I was not interested in gaming before I saw the trailer :)
