Wow, so all that content was originally free? Bungie made a huge mistake by partnering with Activision. They could've made a much better game without them.

Speculation...

I've yet to play Destiny, so please take my thoughts with a boulder of salt, but all the fallout from Destiny has seriously damaged the high level of respect I've held for Bungie for years. I'll always love Bungie for bringing the world Halo: Combat Evolved, arguably the single best FPS ever made, and the Halo series it spawned, arguably the single best FPS series ever.

But Bungie has really screwed the pooch with Destiny, especially if it's true that large sections of the base game were removed to sell later as DLC. I guess you can blame Activision for on-disc DLC, for the outrageously expensive advertising budget, for all the slimy business practices, but in the end Bungie got into bed with Activision.

having played destiny,..  this game shouldn't damage your respect for bungie.  destiny is an amazing game.   imo,. all the critizism comes from inflated expectations due to the "500 million" comment and unfair demands that destiny = multiplat halo instead of being judge as it's own game.   there is probably a lot of salt in there too from those pissed off that bugie gave more love to playstation than xbox due to the marketing deals.

if you like fps games with a focus on co-op,..  if you like pve more than pvp,..  there isn't any game ever made on consoles that comes even within spitting distance of destiny.

Not even Borderlands?

Is anyone really surprised at this after Cod? Sure, Bungie didn't develop bit but come on, as soon as Activision got on board, people should have known this was going to happen. Glad I didn't get new console for it lolll

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

That is why I am waiting a year at least.

Anyone who's put the significant time into the game can tell that many things about it just feel off. It's a damn shame. On the one hand I'm quite certain Activision is to blame, but on the other hand, Bungie made their own bed signing with them.

Unfortunately I shelled out for the digital guardian edition already so I have already paid for those first two "expansions." After that though, they won't be getting anymore money from me. They fucked up

Bungie said that they were greatly influenced by borderlands. In fact, they said they thought co-op shooters with loot were the future of First Person Shooters years ago.

imo borderlands is left in destiny's dust.  boarderlands is bigger but it suffers from the same problem most open worlds game have,.. generic filler.  destiny is still impressively large and you can really tell how much care went into making every inch of the world feel unique and varied and configured for awesome firefights.   plus destiny's online is soo good.   not that co-op is impossible to get into with borderlands but destiny makes it soo easy to drop in and out that i'm always co-oping in destiny where in borderlands i gave up pretty early because i was always by my lonesome and bored.

i only played borderlands 1 thought.   maybe they fixed some of it in the sequel,. i wouldn't know.   didn't enjoy borderlands enought to play the sequel.

Goodness really? Has anyone even looked at the cards? There are 2 planets in there that are not unlocked yet. Not including mercury (which is awe inspiring btw, just played it yesterday) Jupiter and Saturn. My guess those are the explanation packs. I'm thinking that all this other stuff is free event type things like vog. I love the game and can't wait to see where Bungie takes this.

Any chance this could be content to be added through events just like Vault of Glass was? This is a game meant to have new events added on a constant basis. Let us wait a few weeks before we continue the ever so constant "Destiny sucks" threads.

If it turns out to actually be content meant for the expansion packs then that sucks, but oh well. We have been seeing this type of shit for years now.
