It better be fucking good. I get a bad feeling from the fact that they're giving it free to Windows 8 users. That makes me think they're making it like Windows 8. They should give it for free to everything older than Windows 8. There'd be a massive conversion. That said, if it's a bunch of software as a service garbage I'll have no part of it, no matter what it's like.

Vista was basically a Windows 7 Beta. The same applies to Windows 8 being a Windows 9 Beta. Anyways, I hope that 9 offers substantial improvements over 8. I've been purposely holding off getting a new PC for this reason.

...and i can't even upgrade to 8.1 because MS's store keeps erroring out before the download can complete. so hopefully they at least let me download this one.

I hope it will keep alot of what is good with Windows 8.1, like the Twin interface (but a bit smoother in the transition between the two), the multitasking and general speed of the software. Yes, I am a big fan of Windows 8.1 :).

Windows 8 doesn't suck.  Only if you can't adapt to the start screen.  

Windows 8 out of the box was pants... configuring it meant it sucks less, but hopeful windows 9 will be back to form.

Windows 8 vanilla was just a super meh.  

8.1 is much, much better.  stability-wise and speed-wise, windows 8 delivers.  Where it doesn't is user experience flexibility- imo, it should have given consumers the option to disable or enable the start menu. 

But windows 9 is looking to be a pretty great.  

Mac users be like "k lol".
