Forums - Gaming Discussion - Does Shadow of Mordor Run at 720p/30fps on Xbox One?

A cloud of multiplats are coming this holiday season, and most of them will be best on ps4. Gap will never close.

Makes me wonder, as the gen goes on, the difference is gonna grow or stay at the same level. People are complaining about lazy devs, but maybe it's the contrary - the devs are starting to master the consoles and are capable of taking full advantage of the extra horsepower PS4 has?

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

No way on earth it's 720p 30fps while PS4 is 1080 at 60 unlocked. My bet is 900p or thereabouts 60fps unlocked. PS4 is more powerful, but not that much more.
If 720 30 is true then I think lazy dev is a legit accusation.

There is another option...

PS4 was being subutilized due the start of the generation and it have more "power" to spare... I and others guys said that the gap in performance will be widen because devs are not using the full potential of PS4 yet while they are optimizing a hell of the code on Xbone to close the gap.

The hardware gap is bigger than the gap showed until now in games... the situation will get worst in my view in the last years of this gen.

Is this really news at this point? I own a PS4 and I'm getting tired of it being news every time a game runs and looks better on it. Honestly it's expected at this point and if not it's clear the dev just didn't feel like taking advantage. Shouldn't stop Xbox fans from enjoying it but if they buy their console for 3rd parties mainly then I guess that future buyers should pay attention. Just not of much interest to me especially when I buy Sony consoles for Sony exclusives.

Close completely? Probably not. But we've seen the gap shrink as opposed to grow bigger.

Frankly, I don't care if the gap ever goes away. But a game achieving 1080p/60fps on PS4 and 720p/30fps on X1 would be odd. The disparity shouldn't be that significiant based on what we've seen thus far.

Even Last of Us had significant dips. So it can't have too much power to spare. :-p

Maybe the Shadows or Mordor is the best optimized PS4 game ever and worst optimized X1 game ever.

But lets wait for the final product before speculating. I imagine Digital Foundry will touch on it.

I may pick this up for the One

Wouldn't be surprised, isnt the PC version very Vram heavy?

Can't wait for Activision and EA games to have new game engines, cause they aint impressive in the least. Parity is a word that makes me cringe, especially when one system has a 50% advantage over the other. That gap is staying all gen.

Actually, no it didnt. The single worst drop was to 47fps during a single moment against a bloater fight
