One failed console doesn't equal "so many attempts".
yes because we know that NES, SNES and Wii was just imagination
Because they want the world to experience the games.
And; I don't think the Fusion thing is a hybrid, if real. I think it's two separate consoles where the games can somehow work on both, without limiting the more powerful, home version.
Because if they make this Handheld-Console hybrid, why should I choose the handheld? They're both getting the same games, and the console is just more fitting to me. So the handheld will just die. Or the opposite could happen (but that's less likely). Look at Vita-PS3/4.
Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Just because you're not "winning" doesn't mean you failed. All home consoles prior to the Wii U (and possibly the Wii U in the future) have made them a profit as far as I know. No reason in getting rid of something that makes money.
I suspect your definition of 'failed' is significantly different from Nintendo's.
Everything except the wii U has made a profit thus far. The Wii U is currently making a profit so it should be able to be profitable by the end of its life cycle as well.

His definition is probably way different from general industry and what a normal person would define as success.
