Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Face-Off: Bayonetta on Wii U

Yes... I have Bayonetta on my 360 and it was indeed gorgeous, althought I hated the game. A matter of taste really, I hate flamboyant stilysh games.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Is this supposed to be impressive?

I'm impressed. The fact that it costs $0.00 and comes with additional content pretty much sold me on it. Everything else is a plus.

Or maybe the Wii U fanbase is just too defensive and will never try to understand why someone would want more. Just a thought.

You wanted more out of a free game?

...

My sincerest apologies your royal highness! Shall I prepare the red carpet for when you are carried to your tantrum room?

Why does Bayonetta 1/2 bring out the worst in people? I've never seen more rancor in my two years at VGChartz than I have in Bayonetta threads.

Because some people feel entitled to get all the games in their platform of choice. I'm sure you've seen several "Nintendo must go third party" articles, threads and posts.

Now imagine how pissed those people must be when it not only hasn't happened yet, but a franchise that began on their prefered console become a Nintendo exclusive.

Bayonetta is a straight port, included for free.

Well, Bayonetta 1 ain't exactly "free", US gamers only lack the choice of getting Bayonetta 2 without part 1 for a cheaper price ($45 - $50 instead of $60 plus taxes).

You can get Bayonetta 2 for £30 ($49, taxes included) or Bayonetta 1+2 for £40 ($65, taxes included): http://www.idealo.co.uk/mscat.html?q=bayonetta

Since the 360-version and WiiU-version of Bayonetta 1 look and perform almost the same, I will keep my 360-version and will buy the standard edition of Bayonetta 2 instead of the 1+2 bundle.

If the WiiU version would have been much better than the 360-version (1080p without AA or 720p with AA and no dips below 50 fps), I would have probably replaced my 360-version of Bayonetta 1 with the WiiU-version.

Wii U version also has extra Nintendo content.

So when a flamboyant, over-the-top fighting game sold only by the power of wank is ported to an anemic next-gen console the reviewer broke down crying because a few visual effects were turned down. I'm shocked the Wii U is so horribly underpowered and that Bayonetta's original code was so horribly optimized from putting too many effects in to begin with. SHOCKED I TELL YOU.

[/dripping sarcasm]

Because of this... I hope Bayonetta 2 is a 3-4 million seller. Huge longshot I know, but the QQing by those people would be so Epically amusing!!

It's not exactly a generalization specific to Nintendo fans excited for Bayonetta though, I think all 3 fanbases are guilty of this.

Except on the other two consoles you can give examples of many third party games that sell better than first parties.  That's even more true on Playstation where there's a lot of first party games that don't sell well at all, even though the games themselves are fairly good.

Just this week Destiny outsold Titanfall and Infamous Second Son's current combined LTD sales in a single week, and that's a brand new IP.  On PS4 there's not even an exclusive title in the first five LTD sales.

*edit*

Granted, Bayonetta isn't going to sell well at all, but being a Nintendo exclusive or a first party game, the fans tend to buy those games and ignore third parties.  The reasonn for the lack of support.  Bayonetta will sell better as an exclusive than it ever would have as a third party on the Wii U.

Bit of a tangent you've gone on there. We weren't talking about 1st party vs 3rd party sales.

I would also love to see that, but we all know that won't happen sadly... :/

One could only wish. Honestly though, I hope it at least breaks even or comes close to it.
