Forums - Nintendo Discussion - In my opinion, the number one thing Nintendo should improve the most...

...it's their digital store's quality. Seriously, take the PSN - in recent years, the prices and deals have become amazing. I've bought Ni no Kuni for $7 for crying out loud. Tomb Raider cost me $20 when it was just a few months old. And I don't even wanna talk about Steam or PC games in general, those are ridiculous.

Now Nintendo? Their eShop is really not that great. They have a decent deal celebrating Smash Bros as we speak ($20 for DKCR 3D and $30 for Tropical Freeze), but I have the feeling their prices NEVER go down. Maybe for you first-worlders who can walk at a random store and find some game for $10 at a bargain bin or something it's no huge deal. But the rest of the world? Curtain Call would probably cost me the equivalent of US$60 for example.

I don't know if I made myself clear. (and I don't know the current state of Microsoft's online store so...)

I agree. Nintendo is way too rigid about... everything.

I'm fine with the eShop, though. I speak as someone who looks at the entire operation from the perspective of a dev.
If the majority of games drop price far less often, it's much easier for someone to benefit from a price drop.
Besides, I'm not worried. Once I hit 17, I can snap up all the Atlus titles because of their sales!

As for what I'd like them to improve, I'd say it's good enough if their next-gen successors are simply more powerful versions of the 3DS and Wii U. The latter is because the four-Gamepad system is amazing, if you think about it.

I WON A BET AGAINST AZUREN! WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I agree with you. The prices are to high.

I think Sony did an amazing job with deals and really PSNPLUS overall.
I could use a better store layout at times from both.
Given the company that did it best, just messed it up with a new "personalized" layout (steam).

However NiNoKuni sale and Tales of Xillia sale, basically made me not purchase Tales of Xillia 2 at full price, so you can create a negative reaction from these sales as well. Nintendo has generally done this amazing job of making sure the value of their games retain that strong value.

So they did a good job...by doing nothing? Alrighty.

Yea, I know what you mean. Nintendo games bearly ever go down in price (for better or for worse) and it is quite annoying that 3 years later, the price of a game hardly changes. Granted the quality of the games are usually great but still, we need more sales

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

That's hardly exclusive to the eShop. Official price cuts in the eShop will match official price cuts at retail, which are few and far between for Nintendo.

It is a strange thing to actually describe what they did. However it does generally benefit them, assuming hardware is selling.

You're right, and that sucks big time. Just to illustrate:

A game from 2010, mind you. Wtf?
