Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Has anyone ever had a defective 3DS XL?

I recently had my 3DS XL start to lose power on me while I was playing a game. So after this happening repeatly I sent my 3DS XL to Nintendo and they replace it after determing it was a product flaw and not my fault. So I'm happy with the way Nintendo handled this and happy with their customer service as I didn't have to pay for shipping or anything else. Please tell me your story if you have one.

Had to go through 3 XLs. The first was a Pokemon X limited edition, which had a bad thumbstick. The second was a Zelda XL, which had dust underneath the screen. The third was also a Zelda XL, which I got a shock from the touchscreen.

Finally, I got a Mario and Luigi 3DS XL that has been perfectly fine for almost a year.

Wow, that's horrible. They were bad production faults. My guess is the ribbon cable wasn't connected to ground right. And the SD port probbaly had a bent pin. if one pin is even slightly bent. It doesn't work. I've had to rip apart SD card slots, that I used everyday for work. And unbend like 2 pins. SD card readers fail really easy with this.

I think mine is defective because it ALWAYS loses it's wi-fi connection. When I turn it on, instead of saying that it's connected, it just says street pass. The only way for me to make it connect again, is to disonnect my router and then connect it again and then poof, magically my 3DS is online. It's bullshit.

Yeah, it was a terrible experience. It sucks because I got a launch 3DS and had no trouble with it for 3 years, and then ran into tons of problems with my XLs

Some Wifi devices pull this junk. My wifi printer does this. But I turn that on and off. It's usually not the routers fault. Unless it has overheat damage. But it works fine after a router reboot. That's confusing.
