U Craft, A Minecraft Clone For Wii U, To Be Announced
Our dreams of ever seeing Minecraft come to Wii U or Nintendo 3DS are probably deflated now that Microsoft has purchased Mojang, the developer behind the phenomenal success of the open-world sandbox game. However, there may be hope yet for the Steves and Creepers of the world: U Craft.
U Craft is supposedly an upcoming Minecraft clone in development for the Wii U, and will be officially revealed tomorrow. Except, the anonymous developer behind U Craft won’t be the ones doing the revealing; that is a task for Operation Sparticus.
Operation Sparticus (yes, spelled with an “i” for some reason) is a movement where a series of developers individually reveal details about U Craft in lieu of its actual, anonymous developer. The first honors will go to Wii U indie developer Hullbreach, who will release the first alpha images of U Craft, the company announced in a press release today. Who will be making future announcements about the game, and when, are unknown.
Why all the mystery? Your guess is as good as ours. But a Minecraft clone would be a warm welcome on Wii U. Even Nintendo game designer Shigeru Miyamoto expressed interest in seeing Minecraft‘s gameplay make its way to the Wii U GamePad.
