If the VGChartz number are correct, Destiny have sold less than 1.1m in USA. 200K in UK, and 100K in Japan. more than 2m globally?

In any case, i don't think that this year, Destiny will break 5,000,000... will sell good, but imho, Mario kart 8 will sell more than 5,000,000.

And if you think that is impossible because "have sold only 2.6 million now!"

New Super Mario Bros U have sold around 1.5 million on November+December 2013... Mario Kart 8 will sell of course more, so, with the September-October sales, that will be easy above 300,000-350,000, and with other 2,000,000-2,500,000 will sell above 5,000,000 by end of 2014.

So, Destiny for PS4 < Mario kart 8

Well, new mario bros u was bundled with just about every wii u. Is mario kart still bundled? If it is, then yeah it will probably get around that many sales. If it isnt then no.
Either way, destiny will have more than 5 million by the end of the year so I dont think it will outsell it either way...

Destiny is looking at around 2.5m FW on PS4. It will have overtaken MK in two weeks, and will sell more weekly for probably the rest of the year unless WiiU gets a MK bundle.

i will disagree.... i think destiny is just too hyped this year.... and those first week numbers are just insane esp on the ps4

People are underestimating Destiny legs. PS4 version alone will outperform MK8 LTD.

Well, you're considering a massive tie ratio for MK8. In the end of the year, we will probably have PS4 with 60 to 75% more install base than the Wii U, so it gives Destiny a big advantage. It's good to consider too that Destiny will probably be at 2M on PS4 when this week updates and could really get to the 2.6M that MK8 has in the next week.

With heavy bundles for both games, we have an advantage for Destiny since PS4 will sell much more units and bundles, unless MK8 sees some massive bundling. Even in this situation, we could realistically expect PS4 to sell 5M and the U sell 2M until the end of the year, so even with a lot of bundles MK8 would need to fight some massive Destiny numbers.

Destiny is a leg game... sales won't drop.

Mario Kart didn't have userbase for that.

At least in the US there is a new Mario Kart bundle this holiday.  It is exclusive to Walmart though.  There is also a 3D World bundle.  It doesn't seem like it will be as ubiquitous as the NSMB bundle.

great initial sales, yes.

decent numbers for second and thrid week, yes.

decent numbers until the destiny bundle gets replaced by a hotter item, yes

but destiny is a leg game? surely not

and there is no way it will do 5m on ps4 alone until end of 2014.
