Forums - Microsoft Discussion - The best Destiny players are on Xbox

Despite being more popular on PlayStation 4 by about 200,000 units, Xbox gamers are far and away the better Destiny players.

Stat aggregator Destiny Tracker has a list of the top Crucible players in Destiny, and it appears years of experience playing Bungie's Halo games has paid off for the Xbox community.

Seven of the top 10 spots are occupied by Xbox players, 12 of the top 20, and 29 of the top 50.

The win/loss ratio of the top ten players on each platform also tells an interesting story: the top Xbox players have a win:loss ratio of 86.69, compared to the top 10 PlayStation players, who win only 50.91% of the time on average.

What do these stats tell us? Well, probably not much seeing as though there is no cross-platform play for Destiny (or any game for that matter), but it's a strong case for how firmly embedded the Bungie design philosophy is in Xbox players.

Just as easily means the worst players are on it too.

This is a perfect stat for Microsoft's PR for this month's NPD :)

How did you guess that? Since it sold more PlayStation, its more likely it has the worst players.

A console brand that's always been aimed towards shooter fans has people who are good at shooters on it. Imagine that.

”The environment where PlayStation wins is best for this industry” (Jack Tretton, 2009)

I play Destiny on the PS4 and the only time I've gone into the Crucible was when the game forced me to in order to grind out an Exotic gun. It's a PVE dungeon grind gear game, the PVP element of the game is so ancillary... and frankly it's not fun.

i reckon his argument will be something like

the core went for power, ps4 = power so on average more better players are on PS4 of equal caliber.

XBOX has kinect and shit so all the casuaaaaals signedup for that console.

The "best" players have to be killing someone.

Useless stats ^^. 29 of the Top 50 one or two weeks after the release means nothing... It would be interesting only with crossplay.

And what are these win:loss ratios ? 50,91% on PS ? How can you be in the Top 10 if you only win half of the time ? Does it mean that all Playstation players are good (so the Top 10 is not destroying the other players), and XBox have a good Top 10 and really shitty other players ?
