Come on 1 million + sales!!! Come on Nintendo, they said they would be okay with becoming a second party developer for you guys... (Do it..... Do it...)

Is possible and i again think this.

Wonderful 101 have sold 5K first week in Japan.

Now, the game have sold 50K.

The game sell 500 on week, so, by end of year, will sell as 65K-70K, and by end of gen will pass 100K.

Citing VGC isn't good here. Also, the game stock through its first shipment after it was heavily discounted (as is with all overshipped flops).

Even it sold 500k, what's the point if they're going for less than 1000 yen

It's two days of sales. It got the same amount of time as every other new game. Stop using this excuse. It sold less than half of Bayonetta 1 on 360.

I'm not being snarky here: do you already know the numbers?

We can use the charts above and apply normative drops to get our number. I'm estimating a 25-30k FW based off of Tsutaya.

There are deviations (as with all sales gathering and extrapolation), but they are that. Exceptions and deviations, not norms.

Not a good first week and not at all surprising.

can't you read the thread? It's one day sale.

It's two days on the market which is the normal amount for a first week.

It will most likely sell less than 30k or even less than 25k and by this week it will go down to less than 10k. It will probably hit 100k in Japan by the end of the year, or at least close to it. Worldwide though I doubt it'll hit 1 million, but who knows. lol

If its two day then I have to say it flopped but it can still has a decent first week depending of the other markets

I am so disappointed in Japan. In my eyes, they have become a bad joke. If they do not support Bayo2, okay then. Too bad. They MUST give it above 80k.

Japanese console business died years ago.

The game sell 500 on week, so, by end of year, will sell as 65K-70K, and by end of gen will pass 100K.

So, will sell x20 first week.

I don't think that Bayonetta 2 will have the legs for x20 first week, but x10 yes, and if will sell 25,000 first week, will close with 250,000 lifetime (even 300,000).

This in Japan...

Europe: 300,000-400,000

N.Amrica: 400,000-500,000

Rest of World: 100,000-150,000

In the worst scenario 250,000+300,000+400,000+100,000: 1,050,000 !!!

So, i still predict above 1 Million.

draky the best argument is wind waker hd which had an opening of 30k,worse than hyrule warriors 75K,and till now has sold 1M+ because of europe and especially of usa!(bayonneta will have a 30k opening?)i cant say that i m optimistic about bayonetta 2,the only thing i can say is:why not waiting for the western release, seeing how will do ther and if it fails ,then call it a flop, calling it a flop now is premature. Also taking as an indication one market isnt irrational?...

I think Nintendo's play now may be to re-release a lot of these projects for the Fusion device. Hopefully they can develop Fusion with dev libraries that make porting from Wii U as stream lined as possible.

But for a lot of these games like Bayo 2, Wonderful 101, Xenoblade, even Hyrule Warriors and DKC: Tropical Freeze, they're probably not going to make the profit on them they want (if any at all).

If Fusion can sell a decent 65-80 million, you'll have millions of people who have never played any of these games that might give them a shot if they're available for a discounted price.

This made me realize we finally got a top 1000 for 2013 from Media Create.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=876551

Wonderful 101 was at 14,134 for the year.  VGC has it at roughly double.  VGC tracking for games that have fallen out of the charts is generally pretty spotty.  In TW101's case it only spent two weeks in the Media Create top 50.

Now maybe they were eventually able to sell through the initial shipment this year, but I rather doubt retailers kept ordering more to get it to crawl to 50k.  Much less 100k by the end of the gen.  Interestingly enough, VGC has TW101 over 11x higher in 2014 than Platinum's other game that came out last year, MGRR.  On Amazon Japan MGRR is 83rd for 2014 and currently 265th.  TW101 is not in the top 100 for the year and currently 1,028th

Also, expecting a 10-12x multiplier for Bayonetta 2 is ludicrous.
