The combat system in LR was praised by almost all reviews. add to that full real-time, more fluidity and controllable AI. I think we have a winning formula here.

I think the combat will be a combination of FF12, KH and FF13:LR.

There will be a FF12 like gambit system where you can set general context based commands for your different party members that you can simply mix and match based on which party members you have on the team. Things like, cast haste at start of battle> cast cure when HP below 20%> cast protect when enemy physical attack deals greater than 40% damage...etc but will be much deeper than what was in FF12. And I think it will take some of KH combat elements where you can perform context based team attacks with your party members and group limit attacks.

A system like above is pretty much the only way to effectively have realtime combat that isn't ATB based and menu heavy.

Yes, that definitely sounds more like it. What I hated about XII ( beside everything ) that it was to automated, XV has some elements of that but it is still real-time battle system that includes interaction with the environment and fast thinking. Instead keep pressing the button now you only have to hold it.

I think its a tap for light attacks and hold for heavy attacks. I also like how you cast spells... press and hold to start the cast while you select the target(s) then release to cast. and it seems mapped to a trigger, it would be cool is how far down you press the trigger determines what grade of spell you cast. eg. light press fire, medium press fira and full press firaga. That could also add a sense of finess to spell casting, though I doubt they would do that lol.

Hell yes for the PC version. After XIII was confirmed for pc a few days ago we can all assume that XV is also coming to PC : )

I'm not sure what I think of the whole "car" thing, but the graphics look fabulous and the style is very Xenoblade-y, which is great. My interest is piqued.

My hypemeter is over 9000 since 2006

I need a holyday 2015 release date to prevent an implosion !

The trailer confirms the tone, story, music & world will live up to 10 years of HYPE.

I am just so confused about the battle system...I don;t really understand how it's gonna work but oh well.....that's what the demo is for.

My imppresion on the gameplay session:

The animations are varied and very well made, some need more polishing, but that is expected at this point of development. Even the walking animation changes depending on the situation ( running around or walking toward an enemy) I was really amazed by the details and the soft animation of the clothe

The combat system, the fantasy theme of the game really benefits the combat. The swords keep disappearing and reappearing in a way that keeps the player hooked, and also adds to the battle a wide variety of moves and attacks on the fly. What I loved about it is the ability to interact with the environment while you are in middle of all that, the way you can warp away from attacks to a certain elements in the environment, them warp back to attack in such a cool way. It really adds a strategic depth to the system, as you have to precisely pick your position. In addition to that you also have to keep an eye on the real-time command menu to manage your magic, items, summons. That is a system requires a skill and awareness of your surroundings. All of that make the battle system much more dynamic and engaging in comparison to other aRPGs like the Witcher or even RPGs in general..

I wonder where they got that from :P

I have no idea, from where ? Mayby KH ? I wouldn't know, I never played that series ( except for Birth by Sleep, and it wasn't really like that )

Ya in KH you can summon and dismiss ur keyblade in and out of combat.

Straight Nomura. Even the way he moves with his sword is similar to DDD's flowmotion.
