i don't understand the hate for destiny . If people are complaining about crappy story then what about borderlands which has no story or a really bad story . I mean destiny is like borderlands with better story and better gameplay then borderlands. I just started destiny and so far its alot of fun

You're correct about the first Borderlands story-wise, but the second one is much better in that regard.

Borderlands has local co-op, no online required, more content, tons of loot, being able to trade with co-op partner, more mission types etc.

Eh I agree with a lot of the complaints but the game is just so fun to play. Did the raid last night for the first time lots of fun.

This game is pretty much exactly like Diablo except an fps. You repeat a lot of the same stuff over and over again but it's fun doing it especially with other people. If you like Diablo I don't see how you don't like this unless fps is not your thing.

Also the first game I've played this gen with people who talk. No one talks online it's so annoying. The raid forces you to have to talk though otherwise you can't do it.

In Diablo you can still trade though. That's a huge difference.

Yea it would be nice to trade but it's not game breaking to me.

I played the beta on 360 but waited for reviews and, well, decided to wait for a long time now. Perhaps it gets better with patches.

Seeing as they center around looting and the focus on this instead of looting doesn't attract me, sadly, although I had quite some fun with the beta but only played about 5 hours.

And thats fine... but just know that EVERY MAJOR MMO has had a trade feature for the last 13 years... and thats not an exaggeration...

Oh I know I've been a huge fan of MMOs for about 16 years now. I've just never been into trading things and earning equipment that way. I don't know why but it just takes the gratitifcation out of it to be handed an item.

My big complaint is the grouping system. They seriosuly need to setup a grouping system similar to what World of warcraft has. Let me setup a LFG status so people can join if they're looking to. Let me setup a LFG with MICs required option etc. They need to fix the part system/chatting system in this game first and foremost.

I was doing a Raid with a random group I got for the Destiny LFG website and it was insanely fun and we were dying non stop at the very begining of the RAID.

Just thought I'd share his review of the game as I found a lot of it very enlightening, not having played the full game myself.
Joe's honesty in his reviews is very refreshing, and he feels a lot more professional than many of the actual "professional game journalists" out there. He explains all the negatives and positives in great detail. One of the best reviews I've seen.

Starting on the exact same spot no matter which mission you are on, the constant wave defense missions while Ghost hacks a computer or a door, the exact same design for legendary weapons, etc, those all sound like very lazy design, I agree.

I also recognise this business of cutting out content from a game to save it for the next game/expansion. It happened with Xenosaga 2. Monolith intended for it to have a lot more content, but Namco decided that they should cut a lot of things out and save it for Xenosaga 3 and beyond. It was originally planned to be a 6 game series, but largely due to the poor reception of Xenosaga 2, they had to wrap thigs up in Xenosaga 3.

Xenosaga 2 is one of my favorite games, I did not know it was not well received.

I've been told to skip Xenosaga 2 entirely for how terrible it is.

I would suggest the same, to be honest. But you should watch the cutscenes on Youtube so you understand the story for when you play Xenosaga 3.
The biggest problem I had with Xenosaga 2 was the battle system. Once you hit Disc 2 (which only takes 2 hours iirc) normal battles start to get insanely tedious to the point where they are almost as long as like boss battles in other games. You can't deal any significant damage to enemies until you "break" their guard, which requires a combo of specific types of attacks (some of which some of your party members may not even be capable of), and once the guard is broken, you can deal a lot of damage to the enemies ONLY if you keep the combo going, which requires a bunch of "stock" which you gain by skipping a turn, similar to how you gain Default in Bravely Default. (It also doesn't help that some of your party members are unable to continue combos that certain other party members start. KOS-MOS can launch opponents into the air, but Ziggy can't hit an opponent who is in the air, etc.)  Once you stop the combo, the enemies Guard will re appear, and you'll do almost no damage to them again and have to repeat the process of stocking up a bunch of stocks in order to Break and then finish them off with the remaining stocks you have left for the combo. It just gets insanely tedious for regular battles, to the point where I started to feel like I was actually wasting my time playing the game. That's when I decided to use a cheat code to allow me to one hit kill anything, so I could at least see the story. I've never done that before or since for any first playthrough of a game or series that I enjoyed, but that was the only way I could justify continuing that game. Xenosga 3 however was quite excelent.

You respawn in the same place? That's stupid.

He was refering to how you start every mission on the exact same location on the map, no matter what your mission objective is or where you have to go on the map.

I really don't understand his complaint that compaint honestly. Who cares where you start a mission? Now going through the same areas on all these missions is annoying.

That's a real Hardcore way to approach at gear bud. But I understand where your coming from.

Yeah, they should take up what World of Warcraft does NOW, and not what it used to do. The grouping system on Destiny is like organizing PUGs in the older days of WoW. Never worked... NEVER Will...

I haven't played WOW in a long time but around the burning crusade time they had a great grouping system. Not sure if you're talking about something different. Yea what Destiny is doing now just doesn't work luckily they've made websites that are similar to the WOW sytem but it doesn't work as well cause not everyone who plays the game knows about it.

Joe is preaches the gospel of video game truth. Destiny is garbege.
