Haven't they been doing this for the past decade already?

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Nah, pay someone to make proper sports games. They're not as fun, but there's a market for them.

There's no point with the Wii U. There's no audience for that and it's too late to change it now.

But for Fusion if they're starting with a blank slate and genuinely want to appeal to a broader audience ... maybe.

What I'd do is this ... cut a deal with EA and let them include Mario Sports versions in the NFL, FIFA, and NHL games if they agree to make good Fusion versions of their sports games. Similar to the GCN days, but make it a bit bigger of a deal than that.

^ Mario sports always had an audience with Nintendo gamers. ANd with the lack of sports titles on Wii U those only own one console would really appreciate it - and the other would surely like them aswell.
Ever since they started doing those spin-off games, Wii U has been the only console that hasn`t seen one of those.

Real deal or goofy, Wii U needs sports games.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

New sports games? Yes. With Mario? No.
Splatoon almost became a Mario game, but they chose to make it a new IP, if Nintendo makes sports games, I would rather take the new IP route, because the ''Nintendo only has Mario'' argument needs to stop (My opinion though).

EDIT: They could also make an improved version of Mario Sports Mix that could be released once per generation, and include all the separate Mario sports series in one game.

the problem with EA sports is they make shit games  compared to 2K. Even back in the day ken griffey jr was a much better game then what EA did with MLB 2000. I personally don't touch any EA sports game or know anyone who does if 2 has their on version.

If they going to cut a deal go with 2K at least more people will enjoy the games.

When was the last Football (Soccer) game from 2K? That genre despite being the biggest sports genre on consoles has fallen to just EA and Konami for the past generation. It's actually really sad.
