Your personal wishes are irrelevant IMO. Many people bough PS4/XB1 last year for multiplats, even though they also released on PC. Even this year many people bought PS4 when Watch Dogs released, even though it came to busy. You've got to realise that some people just simply prefer consoles over PCs for gaming in general.
You can't say that just because these new consoles are weaker than high-end PCs, no one will buy them for multiplats available on PC. That is just false. Some people do, but many do not.

My personal wishes? Where? I am speaking of reality that consoles now are not as they were last gen, and that PCs are ever more important as games find their way not only in being multiplat but being also offered on PC. The budgets are becoming so bloated that any big AAA-multiplat is almost guaranteed to find its way to PC because it needs more people to possibly buy the game. The more this happens and is happening, the less relevant the console becomes for multiplat offerings as they are no longer console limited. GTAV is an example of this.
Your comparison using W_Ds is a bad one because it had the same Destiny-esque treatment of massive console marketting campaign, as well as occuring during a massive console-gaming drought. Destiny had a massive marketting campaign behind it AND was console limited, and it helped push consoles far and wide. I see nothing even remotely similar to this coming over the holiday because Sony threw in its eggs with Destiny's long term appeal. So then, now, we look at the holiday... what's left? A racing sim and a platformer that isn't even exclusive. Like I said, you'll see the usual holiday bump but I don't expect anything more than that unless they do some sort of bundle or deal, or pull a game out of their ass.
*And I really don't have to realize what isn't true even remotely. Go ahead and compare active steam users to active all consoles put together, only if you include the 3DS does that comparison come even remotely close.
