Ok cool. You don't like it cause' reasons. This goes back to the OP. I'm sure the professional reviewers felt the same way as you.

My reasons have been explicitly stated. There is no hyperbolic "cuz reasons", to fail to acknowledge this is to fail to have a defense of a point and resorting to strawman.

If you can't deal with the fact that I think the game is an inbalanced, inherently poorly designed and broken game for PvP with a subpar, repetitive Skinner's Box PvE grindfest that has a story written by a two year old, then I am sorry but them's the breaks. Bungie promised something grand, all I got was a child's pasta art with a crayon doodle on it.

Ok im done with this since you are not aswering any of my arguments and just fall back on "Its not a good game" and overuse of phychology terms (That are still not properly used btw).

1. Its a grind fest (It dosent have to be since PVP)

2. Higher LVL advantage in PVP (Its so maginal that it will not have any effect past LVL 22)

3. Story (Compare it to Halo CE or any other FPS new IP out there)

4. Overhype (This is the only LOGICAL reason for your grype, but it was done mostly by the press and fans not by Bungie)

Although you finally used a term properly and it describes your argument perfectly (highlighted)

1.) You grind for PvP too. So this point is literally self-contradictory.

2.) Marginal means its still there (and I argue its not even marginal). Self-contradictory again... also this contradicts your point (1.).

3.) Halo's story may not be revolutionary or good, but itx certainly better than the drivel spewed by Destiny.

4.) Yes.

And no, my argument isn't a strawman. :D

1. I dont even know what that means.

2. I said that after LVL 22 it does not have effect. To say that it has an effect on the PVP balance is just not correct. Like I said LVL 14 items have the same effects as LVL 20 epics. Im still using my LVL 14 gun and its doing its job just fine.

3. LOL Titanfall. This is a thread about the rating games these days is it not? How is this all af a sudden a huge deal when I cant think of a single FPS game where it was a major factor in scoring it? This where my argument is steming from. The rating system is broken and this game got the shit end of the stick just because it tried something thats not common in FPS.

4. Yes.... lol

The problem, the way i see it, is that last gen reviewers stopped reviewing a game on how fun it is and started reviewing tech instead.
I think they are trying to change it back to what it was now, and i must applaud that. Tech doesnt make a game fun by itself. That is what these reviews are saying. Maybe they learned from Watch dogs and tried to change.

The flaws in game reviewing systems.

I finally got a chance to play Destiny (for about 6-7hrs)...

it's at least a 9/10.

I sense some sarcasm in the topic creators post.

I was unfortunately late to the party... I thought it would be dishonest of myself to not mention the 7 hrs(lvl 12) knowing that most have told me it takes lvl 20 to fully be able to get around the game and it's functions... That said, my 7 hours of entertainment at the time (now more than 11 and level 16), already gave me a fair value on the entertainment I recieved (compared to other games with higher scores). A lot of games which have recieved far better scores such as for example; Wolfstein received 100/100 by gamecritic in July compared to the 45/100 awarded to Destiny by the same review website.

7 hours is TRULY not enough to enjoy Destiny for what it is but is is SURELY enough to see a flaw in the review system of those two games... At least in terms of entertainment. Being 4 levels shy for 20, I still maintain that this game does not deserve the 45/100, 50/100 or 60/100... Personally, it is a 90 based on the scores 'other' games which were recently released got. However, tastes differ and I can fully understand the logic behind the game getting maybe up to 10 points less but 45/100 is either attention grabbing or just someone who is reviewing the game on other things than the gaming/entertainment aspect.

I am a Gamer... I play games and not consoles. I have a PC and Console on which I game... I like games. End of Story!

The budget and hype for this game had nothing to do with me being bored of it after 7 or so hours.

I've never played a game so repetitive, so empty in content and so lacking in story.

As someone said. It's like Borderlands without the fun.

Jeez I was hoping this would be about how averaging 7.5 /10 across all reviews should be seen as signalling that a game is in fact very good. And that people who insist games need over 8/10 average are being completely unreasonable about what constitutes a game that can safely be recommended to everyone. Hells I would go so far as to say any game averaging over 7/10 is still a recommended game.

I think it's brilliant that Destiny is a huge success and it's meta is under 80. Hopefully what that tells the gamers out there is that a 70s meta isn't to be treated as a keep away sign, and people should be willing to try such games on a routine basis. Plenty of people think 90s meta games are shit, because of personal taste, so everything is a bit hit and miss to some extent. I hope the next Destiny also metas in the 70s and I hope it is just as successful as this one. It'll be great for gaming if we get several high selling games with 70s metas.

Destiny has 4 single player maps - Four!$#(@! You play 5 missions on level one Cosmodron, 5 missions on map 2, 5 on map 3 and last 5 on map 4. Thats it. Halo 4 is two times bigger and Borderlands 2 is 3 times bigger. For me this game deserves 6/10 single player and 7/10 for co-op.

Game reviewing is an odd thing. I thought I'd have a quick gander at Escapist Magazine's review section the other day (here http://www.escapistmagazine.com/video-games/reviews ) to see what games are getting and while Destiny got 3/5. Mountain, a game about a mountain, got 2.5/5 stars. According to Jim, it's only slighty worse that Destiny?

That's not all, Clary Smith there gave that Pigeon Dating sim, 4/5. That's 8/10. Games just cannot be compared anymore because they are so varied. You cannot compare a game such as Destiny to A Pigeon Dating game. Maybe value for money is being taken into account but either way hear this...

Don't judge a game on a review, it's personal opinion. Play it, you might like it.

Hmm, pie.

Ummm, the game seems to have some issues. Most see it doesnt to co op better than Borderlands and doesnt do PvP better than a lot of other shooters. Its also a game that is blatent in its reliance on DLC, which turns a lot of people off. Its at a 75 meta, which by most reviewers is in the territory of average. You rate it 9/10 which is in the range of one fo the best games of the genre, which is not a vastly popular rating amongst most that have played/reviewed it.

You said games in its category.

What games are really in its category. You take the best out of games that do one thing well and compare it to Destiny but dont consider the fact the Destiny does things those game dont even attempt. Does CoD let you use your PvP gear sets on Campain, does Borderlands have a full PvP suite? That is the issue. Reviews are comparing each componant to the best in class at that componant without consider the fact that the game that does whatever better than Destiny does nothing else.
