lost all credability right there, Halo is as good if not better as anything nintendo can do.

honestly i don't care if I lost credibility in your eyes if you believe that COD and Halo are examples of good games.  Call of Duty went downhill fast after Modern Warfare 2.  Now it's a simple arena shooter from early 2000 with different skins/guns (heck now they're copying Titan Fall)  Halo may have been revolutionary on the original Xbox system but it's simply another "me too" shooter.  They're both crap games that are cashing in on ignorant "gamers"

You have to understand Halo wasn't always that much of a shooter and it is a really good series, but calling it better than anything Nintendo can do is a bit of a stretch.

A hell of a less of a stretch then calling crap one of the premier reviewd and selling franchises in the last 15 years.  But thats nintendo fans for you.

Yes but i don't even thinks that's really a strategy of theirs, they just don't know how to make games of other types. Its a competence issue, if they believed they could make a Halo or COD they would at least try.

yeah but Halo and COD aren't really good games though they do sell a lot

I do agree with the original poster though...  they need to get rid of the stigma that the system is just for 'fun for the whole family' and adopt a sexier image while not losing the family friendly one.  The next system should look slick, have a slick name, and have a massive assortment of "adult" games and a marketing campaign that is designed to sell the sizzle --like it's a sportscar, not a station wagon

And mario was revolutionary on the NES.....

So a ME TO SHOOTER is crap when 3 decades later mario is the same damn thing, run and jump but its not crap.

Isent nintendo cashing in on ignorant gamers to by rehashing the same thing for 30 years ?

hypocracy is strong with you.

When did I make those claims about mario?  You said Nintendo couldn't make games as good as COD and Halo.  I made the true statement that COD has gone downhill fast since Modern Warfare 2.  I recently played HALO on my 6 year old nephews Xbox and came to the conclusion that the game has not changed whatsoever since the original xbox game.  My point is your taste in games is bad so the whole 'competence issue' is not a good argument.

I didn't call it crap, and I agree that is a much larger stretch. I just think that Nintendo games are better if only by a little bit. and that's really not just nintendo fans, but all fans in general, saying anything about that makes you look pretty biased.

Look at the Wii. Its far from failing.

With that said, its a hit or miss thing. But Nintendo clearly wants to target the whole segment and not just kids.

miss miss miss hit miss

It seems more of a miss thing and one fluke.

How apply N64, Gamecube or WiiU to the Family/Kids first formula? With Goldeneye? With Rogue Squadron? With Metroid Prime? With COD or Assassins Creed?

They tried the Family-formula once, with the Wii.

With N64 nintendo stuck with the cartridge format while everyone else was disc based, that put limitations on the software.  Nintendo didn't think discs were kid friendly.  Losing Final Fantasy 7 to sony was a huge blow and it feels like they never recovered the market they lost from that.

The gamecube looks like a purple lunch box and has a silly name.  The PS2 and Xbox OTOH were considered sexier/macho/for people that liked mature titles.

Cartridge vs. Optical Disc have nothing to do with kids. nintendo thought they could control Cartridges better. That's it. Color of the Gamecube might really be a hint towards kids, but the games on the lunchbox were targeted mostly at adults. A problem of mixed signals. And naming - I don't know. PS is  short for Playstation, that does sound as silly as Gamecube. XBOX is just a bland name.

You are ignroant enough to think that your tastes are good yet others are bad then there no point in debating anything with you.

I'd say slight miss (N64)- clear miss (GCN) - home run (Wii) - huge miss (Wii U).

The N64 did have successful early on in the US, but a lot of that was likely driven by the popularity of GoldenEye, other FPS, and Star Wars games that appealled to teenagers/adults. Unfortunately I think the entry of Microsoft basically took a lot of this audience away from Nintendo.

But Gamecube and WiiU also weren't targeted at kids.

Guess what it really is only nintendo fans, if those games were better their consoels would be selling better that woudl be just logical.  What you said is just your bias opinion nothing more or less liek mine.  But i can atleast back mine up with sales over the past 2 decades.  You may prefer nintendo games, majority don't.  Nothing proves that more then sales and what games are pushing those consoles.

I was talking about bias, you claim that nintendo fans are more biased because of the Wii U's low sales? I guess as an xbox fan you can't defend your console of choice.

I claim that a fan of any game or series can become overzealous about their beliefs.

Ratings>Sales for determining if a game is good. You're saying Wii Sports is the best game of all time.(that completely destroys your own arguement.)

It's not going to fail, consistently Nintendo has been purely for the gamer for a long time favoring unique gameplay over console features.

This is the same strategy Sony adapted for the PS3/PS4 and what Nintendo has done since the incarnation of the Wii.... If it aint broke, don't fix it.

Where the hell did you get they are more bias due to sales ? LOL me a xbox fan.

Console sale buddy.  Over the last gens its not nintendo games that have pushed the most consoles.
