Surely. Making money off it has of course some relation to sales but not necessarily tells us the whole story.

Seems many people here are quite easy to entertain...
I feel bad for all those people that just yesterday were partying hard because xbox one supposedly outsold ps4 for one week...well, actually I don't. Backlash well deserved.

Any source for that 100k preorder number? Playstation is far more popular in China too.

Microsoft doesn't want to "survive" in the video game space they want to dominate.
The shareholders will not tolerate the game division coming 2nd 3 times in a row if the sales don't pick up I expect xbox one to be discontinude or the whole division sold off by mid 2016.
Steve Ballmer saw Microsoft through record profits every year and they still got rid of him for 'underperforming'.
That's because most tier 2 countries in Europe already had the console. Belgium is tier 2 but we had the Xbox One readily available before the PS4 stock issues were resolved
