Marvel isn't exactly a big video game property outside of Marvel vs Capcom, which seems to have lost the support of its publisher.
Disney made a huge deal with EA last year to make several Star Wars games, the first wave of which is likely releasing next year to drum up hype for Episode VII.
Star Wars had a long lul in its popularity... let's see, Battlefront II released in 2005, the year Episode III released. Then we got no major Battlefront titles for 10 years. Now we are getting Battlefront III, at long last, the year Episode VII releases. This is not a coincidence. Disney is pumping money into the Star Wars brand, hoping to bring about a return to its early-2000s profitability.
