Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Disney Infinity 2.0 Has Lowest Resolution on Wii U Version – And That is Unacceptable

Is there a reason everyone is saying Skylanders and Ubisoft and whatever when this is about Disney Infinity?

Anyways, the final statement is true. There is absolutely no reason for a game to look or run better on PS360 besides laziness or not giving a crap. It's pretty shameful what they are doing. Especially since devs are willing to screw over the people buying thier game the most, as long as it's Nintendo.

Meh, we will have amiibo, we will have Super Smash Bros, we will have Super Smash Bros, we will have Super Smash Bros, we will have Super Smash Bros & we will have Super Smash Bros.

Shit like this is a no-win situation for gamers. Gamers who buy this on Wii U are saying with their wallet that stuff like this is ok. Wii U gamers that don't buy into shit like this are then held responsible when the company inevitably stops supporting Wii U. There's no winning.

The thing is the general public don't know its sub par.  They just buy games so even if the core gamers voted with their wallet there is enough noobs and parents buying this shit for their kids to negative the poor effort.

Wow, the system that the game has a good chance of selling really well on(according to Ubisoft) they half ass it. Why do the even bother making this game in 1080p on the Xbone and PS4, it's not like this game is going to sell well on them. Should have put some of that money in making the Wii U comparable to atleast the last gen. I hope there'll be a day one update to fix this issue. I don't plan on buying it, but this is just plain BS.

It's such a low fidelity game that i expect both the X1 and PS4 are able to brute force it to 1080p with very little optimization.

Raw power wise the WiiU could force its way to 720p, but its hardware set up somewhat demands that games be tailored to it (which defeats a lot of the point in brute forcing :p). At that point you might as well just optimize the game properly, but the developer was obviously too lazy for that.

The evidence just keeps piling up

Is this going to be another round of 'blame the customer'?

Is it not coming to Wii? Kinda weird considering that was the best-selling version of the first game just last year.

Not to mention that it could run it almost at the same resolution as Wii U.

480 x 640 = 307,200 pixels

600 x 1138 = 682,800 pixels

Hopefully 2.0 is actually a good game this time. Might have an excuse to get those figures.

1. Just because the resolution is lower doesn't mean that it looks worse on the WiiU. Maybe other parts are improved compared to PS360. Improved lighting or something (but I actually don't know: don't follow this game at all)

2. In most areas the WiiU GPU is an improvement compared to PS360 but in others it's actually worse. So depending on what hardware resources are most limiting for this game it may well be that PS360 just perform better with the game

We don't have confirmed specs on Wii U's GPU, Latte, but we do know from devs that it's a GPGPU several generations ahead of the PS3/360's and has Direct X 10 and 11 level features.
