3DS more+. Why? BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY, PEOPLE. 3DS IS the DS. Not contest.

Putting aside sales and game archive... for all it can do I think the 3DS is the obvious answer.

The DS is my least favorite Nintendo handheld. It took me back to dark ages of N64 looking games and with no stick made controls a nightmare (Phantom Hourglass!)

The 3DS wins easily, but still falls way short of my beloved GBA.

As for operating system, eshop and other bonus features, the 3DS takes the cake but when it comes to games and overall library the original DS blows the 3DS out the water as it has something in every genre for people to enjoy. The original DS is the best handheld system hands down and i doubt the 3DS can change that.

3DS beats DS hands down as far as the games, IMO. My favorite DS games ended up being the Dragon Quest ports. Zelda is better on 3DS, Mario is better on 3DS, Fire Emblem is better on 3DS, we also have Bravely Default, SMT IV, and a fairly good port of Tales of the Abyss.

I never disagreed with the quantity of quality games. I had a post here somewhere stating that the DS had better games than 3DS. But only reason why that's so is because DS has been out for almost a good 7 years (November 21, 2004 Release Date) while the 3DS has been out only 3 1/2 years (March 27, 2011 Release Date). It completely not fair to compare a console that's had a ton of time for games to come out for it versus a relatively young console that we probably haven't even seen the best of.

Plus, you can't play all those games I've mentioned on a standard DS. Some of them need the DSi in order to work.

Give the 3DS an extra 3 1/2 years, your telling me NDS will still have a better library than the 3ds if they had the same timeframe to work with?

We are not even mentioning the 3ds streetpass capabilities, the improvements to the DS OS, web browsing, addiction of appz, connection to the Wii U, addiction of the Mii's ETC.

It's like comparing PS3 to PS4. If your gonna judge it solely on games, PS3 would be the better console by a Landslide.

Maybe, but 3DS releases are slowing down, not speeding up as they did with the DS (remembering everyone assumed the PSP was going to wipe the floor with it back in 2004 inc a lot of developers).

There's barely been anything in 2014 I've wanted on 3DS, that last must buy release for me was Luigi's Mansion 2. 2012/early 2013 were it's highlights for me.

A lot of people liked Bravely Default, Kirby's Triple Deluxe, Professor Layton Vs. Phoenix Wright, and Tomodachi Life, and Mario Golf 3ds. Maybe these games just aren't your cup of tea.

Plus it has Smash coming out, as well as Pokémon AlphaSapphire. and PersonaQ still pending.

3ds wins.

pokemon X and Y finally shook up and improved pokemon graphics
Super Mario 3d land brought the first original 3d Mario to a handheld
Mario Kart 7 brought a fantastic racer with good online, it's Mario kart!
Lego city undercover brought us a fun open world 3d game, gta for kids
professor Layton, bravely default, fire emblem awakening
ocarina of time in 3d on a portable?
A link between worlds bringing back the top down adventure and updating it for modern play
Donkey kong country returns was great fun
Can't wait for pokemon omega ruby and alpha sapphire!
First Smash on a portable...

DS had pokemon HGSS! and BW2, my favorite pokemon games! I like the new features in pokemon XY, but they are not even close to HGSS and BW2. Lets see ORAS.
EBA!!!we need a eba game on 3ds!
i like so much ST and PH zeldas!
chono trigger DS!

3DS has so many new experiences that couldnt come to a handheld before!
SM3DL, mk7, DKCR, etc. But after i play the versions on my wii U, they lost the apleal for me, wii U versions are so superior... So, 3DS worth more for exclusive handheld experiences (and for those who doesnt have a wii U).

Not a right lot for 2 years is it on a system with such a huge userbase. That said, Prof Layton and Phoenix Wright I played to death on the DS. Hotshots Golf is a better portable golf game. I've not been interested in Pokemon since the GBA ones.

Kirby I'll grab when I see it cheaper as I generally like them. Smash Bros doesn't interest me in the slightest as I don't play fighting games.

So yeah, not my cup of tea. The diversity of the lineup is woeful compared with the original DS. Hopefully the N3DS will give it a new lease of life. Dual analogue built is certainly a step in the right direction.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.
