Forums - Nintendo Discussion - First Score for Hyrule Warriors - 87%

87/100. Unfortunately its a bad score for a Zelda game. Let us pray other reviews will be kinder :'-(

In November’s issue of Official Nintendo Magazine, staffer Kate Gray gave Koei Temco‘s Zelda / Dynasty Warriors mashup Hyrule Warriors one of its first Western reviews, scoring it an impressive 87 / 100. In her opinion, Koei Temco has breathed new life into what has otherwise become a stale franchise:

“Kintsugi is  the traditional Japanese art of reassembling broken pottery by using resin mixed with gold. The result is that the smashed piece looks the same as before, but with seams of gold running across its surface like scars. It is an art form that celebrates repair and rejoices in creating something new from something old. That is precisely what Koei Temco has done to The Legend of Zelda.”

For the poor souls who didn't notice, sarcasm is in the first sentence of the thread.

Zelda's stale? lol.
I expected 73 or something judging by your thread title :P

Well Its a musou Game, Never been a Zelda Game.

Its an Impressive Score for a musou game.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Here- oh wait, sarcasm.

Well it is a Spinoff that just adds a few Zelda mechanics to a Dynasty Warriors game with Zelda stuff.

I think this a great score! edit: lol, sarcasm.

Not a traditional Zelda game. Compare to other dynasty warrioirs rather than zelda.

And the score is good, I don't see the problem or reason to be sad/ upset

Fuck.
I expected a perfect score.

Yeah I don't think it's fair to compare this game to Zelda games. Don't expect this to be a masterpiece like most (all?) Zelda games are. I'm still excited for this game, but I know it's not going to be anything like a Zelda game. Honestly, if Hyrule Warriors averaged around an 87 on Metacritic, I'd be thrilled.

Hyrule Warriors. Not the Zelda game we deserve, but the Zelda game we need.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
