Forums - Gaming Discussion - The Order: 1886 Dev Defends Bungie's Destiny: "Review Score Under 8 Is Ludicrous, Deserves More Just For Scope And Art"

Destiny only has one real problem: it's not a game for everyone.

How is that a problem? Because darn near everyone bought it. Why did they buy it if it wasn't for them? It seems many of them blame something called "hype", which apparently renders them incapable of forming their own opinion.

I also expect to see "Revolutionary" officially added as a criteria for reviews going forward.

Dude's worried because The Order is a lesser game than Destiny and Destiny got hammered.

Yea ESPECIALLY since The Order has no multiplayer.

But then again, pretty much every shooter is a lesser game than Destiny in a sense

Also, Destiny didn't get hammered. Knack got hammered

Some of you sound foolish. The game isn't even out yet and you're spelling doom for it. Wouldn't it be foolish to say that games like Halo 5 is doomed and will only sale on hype alone? Of course it would.

For Destiny, the game definitely deserves more than a 6. No more than 8 though. My personal opinion.

For me, this is much more involved with the problem that review scores have. Bear in mind too the short time they had too review the game(one day).

For what we have heard, this game is incomplete. There is more content to follow that will problably be bigger and better than what we have now, so yeah, we should look at this at a episodic perspective, not a standalone one. I know, i know, price and all, but if the content is worth, its ok, like with the sims games.

I really recomend you to abandon review that give this kind of veredict. Once you adopt better methods, this one feels so dated.

If it had gotten stale people wouldn't keep buying them more than anything else

Regardless of reviews Destiny will outsell other games, so will COD:AW, Halo MCC, The Order, U4, etc.

When things get old, it's a slow process not an over night thing. Sales of COD and FPS in general, have been sliding as of late. Titanfall would have been a HUGE game back in say, 2010. But now? Just a fizzle.

I honestly think we're starting to see a sea change. It usually happens because the demograph grows up or moves on. When you look at COD, that game exploded in 2007. Most of those sales were from teenage boys. If you were 16 in 2007, how old would you be now? Graduating college. College grads, by in large, move on to other things.

I have no proof, but you'd be foolish to not notice what's happening.

Fuck the reviews I haven't had so much fun with a game since Hotline Miami

There's just too much hate on a good game!
